Based on that, the choice for stay should be a lot easier when living in Sweden too.

Re: Would you rather... (Part 29)
I don't think I really get option #2. Why does unemployment mean you're barely scraping by?
Over here being on welfare wouldn't be completely horrible. Sure, after a year of unemployment I'd be down to making half of what I make now, but I'd get added benefits from the government for my health insurance and pay far less in taxes. So while I'd be scraping by compared to what I have NOW, I think I would be able to manage and that's not even counting whatever support I might get from the loved ones I'm choosing not to abandon. Plus, does my unemployment spread like some kind of plague so that my partner also loses his job? 'Cause unless he does, we ain't just scraping by; he makes enough that he could support the both of us.
To me #2 just sounds like "Sit at home and play video games all the time" and that's kind of appealing.

Because it is not supposed to be a realistisc representation of each person's country standards, but is a fictional condition that I made up. So if you pick it, you will be scraping by.

Yeah, Sweden. What a fucking country. I'd honestly love to live in any of the Scandinavian countries for a few months. It just oozes creativity, positivity, health, and beauty. I love it.

So you're also saying that picking that option means you'll either lose your partner or they lose their job, and that the people you sacrifice your job and financial stability for will offer basically zero support?

Don't bring logic into this. It's just a more wordy example of "would you prefer to be poor/happy or rich/unhappy" scenario.

More or less

Ack, I'd probably leave. No way would my family be happy with me where I am, on welfare. Leaving at least gives them a chance if welfare is the best I can hope for.
Though I think they'd want me to stay.

I wouldn't be poor and happy if my being poor dragged my partner into an unhappy life too.
Well, money isn't supposed to equate to happiness, that's the point. It is meant to be love = happiness. Love conquers all, and all that bullshit.

I think I would have to stay if only for my significant other.
Otherwise, I'd definitely take the money and run.

That really is bullshit though, because as much as people claim otherwise money goes pretty far when it comes to buying you happiness, and dragging your partner into what is apparently going to be a multi-decade long struggle to get by doesn't sound very appealing. I think knowing the full consequences of my choice, I would choose to leave. Sometimes if you love something, you've got to let it go, or some kind of sappy crap like that. I wouldn't want to be with someone knowing that their lives are far worse off because they're with me.

Not cut my fingernails. Hell I might get even some fancy painting on it and then be the cool fashion guy in some hipster clubs.
