La La Land Zootopia Arrival Manchester By The Sea Moonlight I think we go boring this year. That might end up helping Zootopia though.

early bet would be La La Land, but I wouldn't rule out RO or Passengers if either is as great as it could be.

La La Land and Arrival, yeah. One of these two is winning. However, do not underestimate Silence.

Re: WOKJ Movie Awards Speculation
I'd give Arrival the edge since I expect a lot of naysayers will call La La Land an overrated fluffy musical like with Chicago, Les Mis and Dreamgirls.

Re: WOKJ Movie Awards Speculation
I know plenty of people didn't care for Les Miserables but "fluffy" isn't something it was called, unless I'm remembering incorrectly.
Anyhoo, I think La La Land will get it. It wouldn't shock me if Kubo wins Best Animated Film.

It feels like so long ago, but I hope people can remember their fondness of Deadpool. But sure, Arrival seems like the type of film to do well with KJ. And The Witch. Though I also hope people remember their love for The Nice Guys, too.

Re: WOKJ Movie Awards Speculation
with the smaller sample size and less industry influence, KJ Movie Award noms are always more interesting than the Oscars. I wouldn't call them boring. Susceptible to marketing and group think, yes, but boring as a whole, no.
I'm hoping The Witch can sneak into Best Picture.

Re: WOKJ Movie Awards Speculation
This year could like 2012 where you got traditional KJ favorite directors (Scorsese in place of Nolan/QT) splitting awards with a crowd favorite, or 2007 where an animated film emerged from a crowded field.

I don't think Zootopia has quite the passion of Ratatouille, though I could be wrong. Is there a thread with the cumulative winners of the WOKJ Movie Awards?

Zootopia is not winning but it has a chance at a nomination.

WOKJ is a funny place. I wouldn't really call it a place of film lovers. A place of blockbuster lovers seems more apt.

I just couldn't find a place to make my initial post - it has nothing to do with the KJ Award Winners.
