 Re: President Trump
Nobody said it yet, but Congratulations Donald. You must be elated. Well done. You certainly showed Obama.
I wonder how long until an assassination attempt.

People said the same about Obama, but there never was an attempt.

 Re: President Trump
Trump has spoken. Quote: "I say it is time for us to come together as one united people," said Donald J. Trump. Love it. Very presidential. He's going to be great.

 Re: President Trump
His speech was okay, not nearly as filled with hatred and intolerance as most of what has come before had been. Maybe the situation isn't hopeless, but with a Republican president and congress and an empty slot on the Supreme Court that republicans kept Obama from filling, I'm still worried about the civil rights of a lot of people I know. I mean, I guess it's not too bad if you're white, straight, financially comfortable and male but that doesn't include anywhere near a majority.

 Re: President Trump
Do you guys take solace that Trump is obviously pro abortion or do you worry that he doesn't care enough about that issue and that Ginsburg's replacement pick is led by Pence, a moral coward if his governorship is any indication?
I feel kinda bad for Merrick Garland. Putting his life on hold and getting his hopes up for months.

I feel kinda bad for Merrick Garland. Putting his life on hold and getting his hopes up for months. Do you really think he has a core position on abortion? He could have staked out his previous position for a third party bid when that seemed an easier path for him to reach the White House. Everything is negotiable with him. I don't feel sorry for Garland, because due to his age and his record I don't see how would have ever gotten nominated under any other circumstances.

I would say his default position is pro Abortion at the personal level as he may need to persuade /has persuaded women to do so but at a policy level, I agree. He has no real care.

I'm so glad that those people who truly believed one or the other was "the lesser of two evils" is happy with their actual evil.

 Re: President Trump
Best case scenario, I think he'll become a puppet for the Republican Party, do their bidding and just bask in his success rather than make any major waves like his supporters are hoping. None of his radical ideas will be enacted and it'll be a shitty four years.
Best case scenario.
I mean, he proved to be a liar already to his supporters. He complimented Hillary Clinton on her hard-fought campaign. I can imagine his least-educated voters saw that and thought "BUT BUT... You're supposed to throw her in jail!! Why are you saying these things about her?!"

A part of me thinks a lot of the insanely hateful, over the topic rhetoric was just pandering for votes and he'll perhaps calm down when he's actually in office. Maybe I'm in denial. But I have to hold onto something. I am VERY emotionally volatile this morning. lol

If Dems are honest with themselves, DT never said much of which thy claim he did. He didn't say all Mexicans and Muslims are bad. He did say grab em by the pussy though, which appearently is nbd

 Re: President Trump
Apparently Hillary won the popular vote.
Can they get rid of the electoral college system which makes zero sense and is not a democracy and retroactively make Hillary president?
