The abusive Carlos was a bit much. I was kind of hoping he would look at himself, and tear up the papers. Gabrielle going back to John only made me dislike her more, though. Really, we have had no indication that Carlos is abusive, so he was always a better person than she was. I won't throw away all the time she spent cheating on him if he mistreated her once. They're both on my bad list now.
Lynette is coming around a bit more lately. And is Bob Newhart going to be a recurring guest star? His time last night went by too quickly.

I too like it and find it to actually be pretty clever.

Archie Gates wrote: The relationship between Gabrielle and the 18 year old didn't bother me much early on because it was obviously intended as comic relief ridiculousness. But this episode they took it more seriously and it seemed rather creepy frankly, watching a 30 something woman make out with a teenager. Of course in real life the actor is only 3 years younger than Gabby, that's hollywood for you.
Well, if he is 18 on the show, technically that's legal.
I think they pretty much established that John was seriously in love with Gabrielle and that Gabrielle genuinely realized that. And this is just a way to get revenge on Carlos, it's not like they're gonna get together. She just needed to get away. I don't see anything really un-called for in that.

oooh...Marcia Cross is on Conan tonight. I wonder if he'll ask her about the Vanity Fair stuff.

I was thinking about something....
Take in mind I'm not talking about Oscar-winning performances.
but since Marcia is married, I'm assuming she has no kids. she plays the part of wife and mother pretty darn well for not having kids, especially in the last episode. Marcia Cross is by far and away the best actress on the show. Of course it does help that she gets the best lines, consistently.
I think half of Felicity's acting is in her make-up. I think Eva's is not that bad, but not too great either. Teri Hatcher would probably be second in line but I can't shake off the feeling that she only acts half way, that she actually is someone like her character. Nicollete is up there too, she does a great job with the little bits they give her.

Some interesting info...
http://imdb.com/news/wenn/2005-04-12/
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is furious with Vanity Fair 's tell-tale article about a bust-up on the magazine's cover shoot - because she insists the catfight never happened. The style mag has turned the photo shoot into a major story, claiming Marcia Cross stormed off the set after becoming upset with the special attention given to cast mate Teri Hatcher . The producers of the show and the cast have been keen to play down the catfight, insisting it was little more than a case of tired women upset by endless primping and preening on the set, but Longoria goes one step further, insisting the article is false. She says, "I'm really disappointed in the article. I think it's severely inaccurate. The pictures are so beautiful and to pair that with what they said was very very disappointing. Marcia Cross took a bullet for no reason. Teri, Nicolette Sheridan and Felicity Huffman know that she's a beautiful, wonderful, supportive human being."
Anybody believe her if this is indeed what she said?

Considering a large portion of Hollywood is devoted to overexaggerating, I wouldn't be surprised if what she says is true. It's easy to cause a big fuss over something, because you know everyone would believe it and start talking about it. If a riot broke out on the set of "Girlfriends" on UPN, not many would really care. But since Desperate Housewives is so big, it's easy to overexaggerate and make something a big deal, when you know people will eat it up. I believed it, but I'm willing to believe it wasn't that big of a deal at all.

From TV Guide:
It looks like the ladies of Wisteria Lane are going to have to regroup for a new cast photo. Desperate Housewives has tapped Alfre Woodard to join the show full-time next season as a seemingly normal housewife who moves into the cul-de-sac with her son in tow, per Variety. The four-time Emmy winner will appear in this season's final episode before returning in the fall as a series regular.

That´s great news. Alfre Woodard is an amazing actress, IMO... And the show could do with some racial diversity, as well.

Ya, the show could use some racial diversity, I agree.
I hope it all fits in perfectly with the storylines though and I hope they're not just adding her because of the minor backlash (from lack of racial diversity).
Well, Housewives was #1 once again after quite some time sitting pretty in the top 3.
Hopefully we can knab the title again this week.
Does anyone know if the advertised "the first of 7 all new episodes" (which is down to five now) is leading up to the finale??
When are they planning on showing that cliff-notes type catch-up episode they described?

I hope Teri Hatcher in that tee shirt made it all worth it. I think you'll like it. It's got a lot of comedy in it, but also has some serious issues mixed it.
I don't know how anybody can hate Lynnette.

Lynette's been on an upswing from her conniving bitch days.
I still don't like her that much, but at least I don't want to fast forward through her scenes now.

Bree is just... Gabrielle is such a little vixen. Edie better be on tonight. I'm really getting frustrated with her being underused. I'm getting the feeling some forshadowing is going on concerning the house that the new cast member will be moving into, and it's not going to be the perfect fantasy neighbor that Lynnette wants.

Yes, and Lynette wants swedish people, the whitest people on the planet. I wonder if she's going to have any issues with that aspect. Since they went out of their way to make a point of saying that, the idea popped in my head.

Bree's the hottie that's getting money off of everyone, right?
If so, she's my favorite. =D>

Who's Bree, then? The gay-hating mother?

Yes, and Bree seems to be most people's favorite on the show.

Teri Hatcher: Susan, the one with the mom
Felicity Huffman: Lynette, the harried blonde mom
Marcia Cross: Bree, the uptight, *awesome* one
Eva Longoria: Gabrielle, the gold-digging vixen
Nicollette Sheridan: Edie, the slutty tramp (she hasn't appeared tonight)
Bree has been cast in a somewhat unflattering light in tonight's episode, she's usually...awesome. Definitely my favorite character.
