A bit early to start this thread, but news just came out that Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam will not be back this season. As far as I can tell, Pharoah seems to have left the show, which is understandable because he was non-existent last season. But Killam is shocked. However, the story is that he's directing a movie right now, which would end up taking over some of his SNL time, which seems like it would be a major negative for him with Lorne and Co.

On the plus side, Colin Jost and Michael Che remain with Update. They're not the best Update anchors, far from it, but they grew on me.

Honestly, if they cut Killam and Pharoah, I hope they cut most of them. SNL needs new blood more than ever right now.

I would be sorry to see Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Kenan Thompson, Vanessa Bayer and Cecily Strong go. Jay Pharoah never lived up to his early promise and it's time for Taran Kilam to go on to bigger and better things. I think the show would benefit from a refresh of the writing team more than the cast.

Jost and Che are the worst Weekend Update hosts ever. They make me physically angry watching them.

Sucks that Killam won't return. I would bet this is the last season for Kate McKinnon and/or Cecily Strong/Vanessa Bayer.

Colin Quinn was the worst.

It was such a shot in the arm once they replaced him w/ Jimmy + Tina.

I feel bad for Cecily Strong. I think she's talented but she seems to be lost in the shuffle a lot at SNL. Anyone who doubts her, check out her White House Correspondent's Dinner performance. I thought she was aces there.

Killam is good, but the other two shouldn't be missed.
