I agree first registering Muslims, monitoring mosques, and then banning them entry how is that any different than what the Nazis began with the Jews.

Re: 2016 Discussion: All Eyes on Trump
Trump wants to turn America into a fascist regime. I don't even know what to say at this point.
Sorry (but not really) if I'm speaking out of turn, but actively supporting Trump makes you a clown. And racist.

Re: 2016 Discussion: All Eyes on Trump
I am glad the Republicans are standing up to him at least. I don't agree with their views but you have to start speaking the truth. Trump has called for getting rid of free speech by limiting access to the internet, and hinting at putting some Muslims in interment camps. He will ruin this country and has to be stopped.

Re: 2016 Discussion: All Eyes on Trump
I think he killed his chances at the Republican nomination. He needs over 50% of the delegates or he won't win. Almost no one who doesn't vote for him will support him if they have any other choice.
And then with a 3rd party bid he could kill the party in the general election.

Re: 2016 Discussion: All Eyes on Trump
Only 16% of Republicans think Trump is insulting. 42% agree that its a good idea to ban Muslims from travel. 25% of all Americans.
EDIT: or 2/3 of Republicans according to another poll. A third say it makes them more likely to vote for him. Still, I can see it hurting him with the party establishment at the convention. But, if he wins the nomination because of this idea, it's sad.

Re: 2016 Discussion: All Eyes on Trump
The fact that his poll numbers have actually gone up after his recent comments suggests he can say just about anything without being negatively affected.

Question is, if he ends up having to run third party, will he have the balls to call it the Fascist Party? My money is on him calling it the Patriot Party.

Re: 2016 Discussion: All Eyes on Trump
Rand dropped out, Ted is the least bad alternative for libertarians so could get some votes

Re: 2016 Discussion: All Eyes on Trump
Rand Paul ran a pretty bad campaign. Assuming that he knew he had no chance of winning from the start, his candidacy should have been about the anti-GOP. He should have focused on bringing libertarian ideas (fiscal conservatism, non-interventionism, devolution of federal power) on the table that are different from the conventional Republican platform, to drive people towards the libertarian camp. Instead, he did the opposite and asked his supporters to gravitate around the GOP.

Re: 2016 Discussion: All Eyes on Trump
I think he's trying to win, though this year may have served as a way to get his name out there for regular GOP voters

Re: 2016 Discussion: All Eyes on Trump
Then he's delusional if he's trying to win. And he failed to get his name out because his performance was forgettable. He should be eyeing all voters (not just loyal Republicans) as his potential supporters and not appeasing the GOP leaders if he really wants to broaden his base.
