If I had to point out every time Spotlight misses something, I'd be here all day. I guess of all the "newspaper staff investigating Catholic Church molestation claims" films I've seen, Spotlight had the best costumes?

Ex Machina! Aren't they mostly naked there? Good show of strength to get a nom here.

Well when they weren't wearing the suit, they had some space clothes too

Is it any good? Loved the first one, really loved the second one, kinda hated part three, haven't bothered with part four.

I like it better than the first, not quite as good as the second, a good bit better than the third. It is quite grim, definitely not a "fun" movie.

Was part three THAT bad that it wiped away any goodwill from one and two or did you really not love the first two as much as you claim?

Knowing that Part 3 and Part 4 were essentially one film, yeah, it wiped away any and all goodwill and interest from me.

Looking at the box office drops from 2 to 3 to 4, I'm guessing I'm not alone.

Mockingjay Part 1 is like The Phantom Menace of the Hunger Games franchise in that it ditches the action of earlier installments for a fascinating more dialogue driven political movie. I think it accomplishes what it sets out to do, and I think it is undervalued.

Yeah, a good rule of thumb, never compare anything to The Phantom Menace.

I simply meant people don't like when franchises change from their initial formula.

Mockingjay 1 was bad. Mockingjay 2 strove toward redemption and mostly succeeded (though Catching Fire is still the best).

That's probably fair. A big reason I loved the first two films so much was the Battle Royale storyline, though the Capitol as the final battlefield hooked me somewhat when reading the third book.
