Anyone else been watching this on Netflix?

I'm on episode 7. It's riveting, and likely to make you really, really angry.

Just finished the whole show last night - extremely well-done documentary. The defense lawyer in the last episode nails it - he hopes Avery is guilty since he just can't bare it if the legal system has put an innocent man in prison twice.

An incredible, incredible series, as riveting as it is infuriating as it is fascinating. Those taped strong-arm interrogations of the intellectually disabled Brendan drove me up the wall and are seared into my brain.

I am sure people depicted poorly in the documentary will push against it: "don't trust the edit," "they left out x and y," etc., etc. But it seriously seems as if both men were convicted despite a dearth of forensic evidence (all this torture and raping and throat slitting and head shooting...and zero blood spatter?) and a for-the-ages blend of police bias and prosecutorial ineptitude.

Just binged 6, 7 and 8 in succession. Done with Steven's trial and onto Brendan's. Yep, I'm still angry.

The DA (Krantz?) has the most punchable voice I've ever heard, if that makes sense.

This is so well-produced and engrossing.

One odd incident which is never addressed again: Andrew Colborn calling in Teresa's RAV4's license-plate number as if he found it abandoned on the side of the road or was pulling it over.

If I could change the series in one way: I wish it showed a bit more of Teresa Halbach's identity and lifestyle. Her lengthiest moment is almost a bit creepy, the if-I-die confessional video...

And she is a tragic victim whether murdered by Steven or her ex or the police or Scott (a minor, but slightly foreboding presence, no?) or a stranger on the edge of town.

P. S. It is perhaps uncomfortable, but this series' power does inadvertently result in one referring to a real criminal case as if it was a game of Clue. "It was Lenk in the library with the candlestick."

That should have been the smoking gun for the "framed" argument.

This was infuriating; everything to do w/ Brendan was heart-breaking.

For all I know Steven Avery was innocent, but I'm too annoyed by docs that have a blatant objective and bias like this. I think this is a conspiracy video more than it is a documentary or journalism

I just finished this. My soul feels somehow crushed. Mostly for Brendan Dassey. It's hard for me to say whether or not Steven Avery is conclusively innocent, but in my heart I know Brendan is.

I agree with this. What gets lost a bit in all of this is that Teresa Halbach was a real person, not just a catalyst. Making a Murderer's filmmakers don't seem all that interested in actually asking questions about who did kill her if it wasn't Avery. I understand the intent (they are trying to create a documentary about the failings of the justice system in more ways than one) but I do wish we had seen some more speculation.

I was ecstatic when I heard the news... what they've put that poor boy through is unconscionable.

I believe Dassey is most likely guilty but I can support overturning his conviction as the right call, with the the judge determining the confession wasn't captured in legal enough circumstances with no lawyer or parent, and even if the interrogators manipulations were a fraction in reality of what the biased MAM documentary edited it to look like, it was still bad enough especially with a mentally slow minor. It sounds like the key thing is they repeatedly told Dassey that they already knew everything that happened that day and he would just be clearing his soul, instead of the real truth of needing Dassey to tell them new things
