Re: Once Upon A Time Season 4 - The 3 B's from Apartment 23
Cool promo (a darker turn for Emma would be interested) but I am concerned about the ratings, already a series low by 4a's finale and Cruella, Ursula and Maleficent storyline seems like a hard sell compared to Frozen or the Wicked Witch
Re: Once Upon A Time Season 4 - The 3 B's from Apartment 23
Ursula, Cruella and Maleficent look awful. I enjoyed the Frozen arc, but this is going to be terrible.

I can't get over the fact that they completely changed Maleficent's costume in this to match the movie. It shows what a cash-in this show is

This show has gone so fucking downhill. Had it lived up to its potential, it could have been another Lost. But the show is just meandering; it has no where to go since they have already made it back to the Enchanted Forest and come back. There will just be a new villain every half season I guess. One step forward, three steps back.

It's so manufactured and corporate. The fact that they have the rights to all the Disney characters is also honestly the show's downfall.

Re: Once Upon A Time Season 4 - The 3 B's from Apartment 23
There's a clockwork nature to it season arcs but the least popular stretch ever (the Greg and Tamara stuff) came in a season before the half season cuts so there's trade-off that may help avoid bumps like that. The Neverland, Wicked Witch and Frozen storylines all matter to the overall story because of Regina, Rumple, Emma, etc. emotional arcs during them which is what they really care about. I think the bigger issue in terms of villain weariness is too many divas, their taste in villains is gayer than Ryan Murphy's. Overall it's still the most purely serialized network show and the most one of a kind to itself currently airing on the Big 4 (Jane the Virgin has a case if counting CW) so if they can't completely hide the machine wheels, it's still doing fine in comparison in that department. To me it just doesn't get appreciated enough for what its best at, it's one of the most obsessed shows I've seen with emotional and character development, yet most critics seem to act like it's just some good guys fighting bad guys in costumes.

Re: Once Upon A Time Season 4 - Cruella ftw
This show is so stupid that I can't even waste my time looking for random "Lost" easter eggs anymore I wish the two weren't even associated because maybe then I could quit this

I literally can't believe I still watch this show. I'm hardly excited for it at all. But for some reason I still tune in Sunday at 8.

It was a much better episode. Maleficent is a great villain and Kristen does a great job playing her. I liked the twist that
Snow and Charming causes Maleficent to lose her child.

Missed tonight's episode. Luckily I can watch it on putlocker.com without waiting ABC's bullshit one week.

The latest episode was OK. This season has at least been way better than season 3.

Yeah I think it has been much better than season 3. Although Season 3 got better but the Neverland plot didn't go anywhere besides making Peter Pan evil which was a neat twist.

Good episode tonight. Can't wait to find the author. But that will probably trigger another villain to come to town and everything they accomplished in this half season will have been for naught.

I thought it was a good episode. I liked seeing August back. I hope he stays back this time.

Re: Once Upon A Time Season 4 thread
I love this half season so far, I like Once most when it gets a little darker, plus it's the first time since 3a they've had real freedom with flashbacks with the missing year storyline in 3b and Arendelle in 4a. After I thought she might be my least favorite of the 3 after the first episode, Maleficent has been by far the best by making her a very emotional character and Kristen van Bauer Straten killing it in terms of internal acting. The 3rd episode where undercover Regina started and Maleficent had her flashback was a classic for me. All the stuff about the author and happy endings can get a little wordy at times, but I think it's clear there aren't set heroes and villains like the characters are convinced, whether you become either is from your own choices, happy endings are earned not given and can be lost at any time
