This was one of the best episodes of the series. Ryan murphy can make me cry like a baby whenever he wants.

NPH looks to bring some life back to this.

You seriously cannot hate on Pepper's episode. It was probably the best episode since Asylum.

Untrue because "Coven" was the best season.

He said the Pepper episode was the best episode since "Asylum," which isn't true because a good deal of the episodes from last season (scratch that, like every episode last season) were better than anything from "Freak Show."

Sooooo Freakshow became the NPH show and he inmedialy challenged Dandy as the best character of the season.

But rly... I just cant care about the freaks.

I seriously hope all the freaks die at the end of the season They're insufferable.

I agree with you, tthe show shines so much when it's around Dandy, Maggie and een Stanley.

Heck at this point I'm rooting for him to kill athem all.

This episode wasn't terrible but it was mostly because Neil Patrick Harris stole every scene he was in. Jimmy on the other hand is maybe the most boring character Evan Peters has played yet. And he sucked last season too.

SO happy that Dandy was back this episode! I can't completely hate on this season because his character is so awesome. I hope Finn gets a lead in season 5.

NPH was so good. Down to the freaking eye twitch. Love it.

Hm. I enjoyed Neil Patrick Harris' Michael-Redgrave-in-Dead-of-Night act, but it is strange to find an episode so devoted to a new character so near the end of the season. The season in general, while pleasant in its macabre quirks, definitely has an interminable and aimless quality.

Holy shit. These last three episodes have been great. It sucks that this season wasn't this consistent. Because if the quality was like this one since the beginning more people would love it. NPH is just so good.

Yeah wtf? Where was this level of quality during the first 3/4 of the season? Seriously this slayed so hard, and I reallly have no idea where this is going.

I'd say they take Dandy down but where does tha leave NPH?

Are you serious show? I can't believe they killed off Maggie, who was one of the only likable characters left. Yet Jimmy is alive?! And I fucking hate the twins.

That being said, NPH is aces and playing crazy very well, Dandy continues to be the best and I hope he kills every other character, and I actually thought the opening scene was really well done.

The score of this season is also bugging the hell out of me - they are using the same musical cues over and over and OVER again and it's nothing short of maddening.

Thank god next week is the season finale Here's to a better season 5, hopefully it's set in the present because these seasons in the past have been the sloppiest thus far, IMO.

I really hope they make Finn Wittrock one of the stars of next season and put Evan Peters on the backburner. This is the second season in a row that he's played a useless, dull character and Wittrock is such a better actor overall that it's almost hilarious comparing the two.

More than anything, the season just felt incredibly long. Earlier elements and tensions, such as Wes Bentley as the soul-collecting phantom or the animosity between Elsa's group and the nearby town, feel so old and abandoned by the wayside.

They never ever seem to perform an actual show for actual customers any longer.

Finale thoughts:

Holy shit Dandy causally walking and shootingthe freaks might be my faorite moment from the whole series. They played well the daylight horror here.
Dandy's death and takedown were also awesome, basically anything Dandy related was.
Finn Wittrock better be back next season
The first half was better than the second BUT even with her fake accent, Jessica. Lange completely OWNED the scenary and chewed it like no one else in the bussiness, imo she might very well win the Emmy again for this episode.
While this was without a doubt the weakest season,nthis was the second best finale after Asylum.

And last, I'm eager to see the changes dor the fifth season.

So the whole first half involving Dandy was aces. The scene where he kills most of the freaks was incredibly tense, well-done and creepy. I'd argue that it was the best segment this show has done all season. Also the whole thing with his death was great too and brought his character full-circle.

Now, on to the fucking mess that was the last half...

My only hope is that Jessica Lange comes back next season if only to redeem herself after playing the worst character in the show's history. Nothing about the development of her storyline made sense whatsoever (she randomly meets a guy in a lobby and becomes famous?! Right). And also the scene with her in the freak show in the sky or whatever that was was so stupid. A) Why is she going to heaven? She's an awful person and B) Why are all these people so glad to see her? She was a lunatic. Also the musical number sucked.

This was hands down the worst season aside from Finn Wittrock's sensational performance. I feel like so much just went nowhere and the characters as a whole were so unlikable.
