I have to say lovemerox, I am educated, a history major, who had to write papers, and argue points for a living. However, I couldn't understand anything you said. It seemed like you were just ranting. I am not going to debate you because I don't think you know how to rationally debate people.

 Re: Ferguson, Missouri
IMo based on the interview with the cop, it seems cops should be given more non-lethal ways to deescalate situations.

I agree with that. I don't get why he didn't have a taser or something similar. What happened to the days they use clubs and stuff. Cops today are just poorly trained.

Do you honestly think cops in the past, with said clubs and stuff, were better trained than now? Back in the day when there were no female cops or non-white cops and cops were known to carry clubs and stuff?

There have been too incidents of cops shooting first and asking questions later.

 Re: Ferguson, Missouri
Reading the news, the not-civil unrest has led to murders, arson, thefts, assaults, other arrests, and now any message that the protestors wanted to get across has fallen by the way side.
So you people still think that these protests were the best way to handle their anger?

Jacko, can you quote one place where someone said this was the best way to handle their anger?

I don't stand a chance debating with a history major, paper writing genius such as yourself. Thanks for the warning.

Eagle wrote: Jacko, can you quote one place where someone said this was the best way to handle their anger? Well no one here was bothered by any of the wrong things that were done by the bad guy, like not listening to the cop and attacking the cop, etc, and no one here had much of a problem with the first day of in-civil unrest, even some joking about some of the incidents. To me, not even close to handling it the right way.

 Re: Ferguson, Missouri
What does everyone think of whether there will be a federal charge? Especially after all the talk and violence by blacks everywhere.
To me, hopefully not, as nothing here suggested this was a black and white incident. It was just a cop doing his job.

To me, hopefully not, as nothing here suggested this was a black and white incident. It was just a cop doing his job. There's nothing to charge Wilson with. The civil rights investigation is pointless. He was a cop semi-responding to a call who just happened to run into a individual who can't follow commands and who was a thief on top of it.

 Re: Ferguson, Missouri
And everyone knows, an inability to follow the orders of a cop gets you shot. What?
Multiple witnesses say Brown ran away from the officer after their physical encounter, turned around over 100 paces away, got shot, staggered forward, and got shot many more times. Brown made a lot of mistakes that day, he robbed a store, he punched a cop, he didn't listen, but he should be in jail, not in the ground.

You are 100% Correct, but you listed all the reasons why he ISN'T. The fault of his own death is 100% Brown's. I'm sorry he put his life into his own hands by making mistake after mistake again and again immediately following his robbery but for folks to put him on some pedestal or act like the cop needs to be vilified or Charged with something for this incident is crazy to me. I've watched plenty of videos of cops going crazy but based on what the cop said and the witnesses cited Mr. Brown brought it upon himself and that's too bad. Oh, and an inability to follow an officer's orders Could get you shot. That can happen regardless of your race. All depends on the situation of course...

 Re: Ferguson, Missouri
I'm going to have to look up all the instances where giving an officer a red mark on his cheek results in THE DEATH PENALTY.
