Amazing. I feel more confident now with my Beautyshop predition (those yahoo numbers really paid off). Rags is lowballing it too. Rags prediction look pretty good too, but I think he is lowballing Sin City too much, don't you think.

I think so too. Everywhere I check, the awareness for Sin City is very very high. I fully expect a Kill Bill-type of weekend. Also, I think the top 10 total will stay at least flat.

Brandon went conservative as well on Sin City, and we all have similar numbers on the rest of movies.

I think you're lowballing The Upside of Anger. It only needs a $4,500 PTA to get $5 million for the weekend, which I think it can easily attain. The commercials and word of mouth have been excellent, and the film should be able to maintain such a PTA at only 1,111 theatres, in my opinion.
PEACE, Mike

Oh, so you don't want to me to take second place from you. If it does go high, that's good for me.

At this point I see no way for Sin City getting less than $20 million.

I will eat my pants if it gets more than 20 million. I feel strongly about this.

Levi's or Lee?
This movie has a must-see factor to it and considering Sky Captain opened to about $5 million less than $20 million despite having two recent box-office poisons in it (Jolie and Law) and not much going for it, I think Sin City can easily manage it.

If I was going to base my prediction on internet hype I would predict 40 million. However I'm not sure if the casual moviegoers are interested in a black & white film. I would predict higher but then I remembered getting burned by my Hellboy 30 million prediction.
Anyway, these predictions look good Scott. Great work as always.

I think SIN CITY will rake in around $28M this weekend. It's had so much build up, great reviews, and alot of general media attention.
BEAUTY SHOP will do around $14.000.000 for the 5 day.

I'm sure you want to take that back now, because according to estimates, I got 100% for that prediction.
