The thought of Colin Farrell in True Detective gives me tingles in intimate places.

So I finally decided to give this a chance, on episode 6. Not really sure how I feel about it but I'm anxious to see how it concludes!

Dude, what?! I don't know you. You posed a question and I answered it to my understanding. I've got better things to do than to troll anyone here.

Honestly, looking back on it (and after watching Fargo), the shows not AS great as I initially felt. It is great but I actually wouldn't put it at tier 1 (wire, BB, etc) level.

I don't even think its the best show of the year even though I liked it. I would put it behind Game of Thrones, Fargo, Hannibal and Rectify. I haven't seen season 2 of Orange is the New Black to compare it with

It's probably one of those shows that are experienced best while watching them. Once I was in it, I was hooked.

I find it hard to describe the show to others without saying "it's really good, but slow in spots... but the slow parts are still good!" They created an interesting and spooky atmosphere out of nothing.

And of course, the show would likely be nothing without Woody and McConaughey.

Excellent. After pretty much exhausting himself in the comedy genre, it's great to see Vaughn doing something serious.

Post Re: True Detective
Also, I think it's funny that, after watching both True Detective and Fargo, that these two shows were both competing in the wrong categories at the Emmys. True Detective will not feature any new characters going forward, which obviously makes it a Miniseries rather than a continuing drama, whereas Fargo, despite different time periods, will likely feature a few of the same characters throughout its run (at least Kevin Carradine's character in Season 2, though played by a different actor).

Love the casting of both. Colin Farrell was fantastic in In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths and Vince Vaughn could be great. His performance in Swingers was indeed MONEY. This could be great.

Vince Vaughn? Boy are they scraping the bottom of the barrel for the leads of this season. I would think they'd want a couple of actual heavyweights again.

Hope the female lead is great otherwise I don't really care about this season.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. (It sees enough abuse because of your lifestyle choices.)

Colin Farrell is a fantastic actor. Cannot wait for the new season.

Vince Vaughn can be a strong dramatic actor too. We've just been drowning in his comedy roles now for over a decade.

When I think of Drama heavyweights, I think of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

Yeah really. Before Dallas Buyers Club, did anyone really think McConaughey could pull this off? We're not even into a year of him being taken seriously as an actor. He's just made such a lasting impact in a short period of time that it feels like he's always been this incredible actor.

Although to be fair, he's always been a capable actor. He just went for (was offered?) less-than-weighty roles.

Vaughn tried the heavier stuff but got better money for comedy. Maybe now that he's not the box office comedy draw he was a few years ago, he'll take a few risks. This ought to be a fine start.

Of course, that's contingent on the season actually being good, which many believe it won't be.
