It will not be Whiplash. ;) Which will receive strong reviews and do well in art-houses, but peter out around 2 to 4 million.

Among smaller films, more potent contenders are Wild (Reese Witherspoon's Oscar bid + Fox Searchlight) and Big Eyes (Tim Burton + Amy Adams + Christoph Waltz).

Yeah I don't see it being Whiplash. I agree with David's 2-4 assessment. Looks great though.

Big Eyes will probably do well but I would like to see a trailer before betting on it.

Into the woods, unbroken, Paddington, The Interview and HTTM 2 are all opening on Christmas. I think HTTM 2 would have budged by now if it was going to.
