i had dinner with my family tonight and we went to the movies (qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au bon dieu?). last friday i had a house party with friends, with the worst hangover so far that followed. so i could say i celebrated quite well

how was qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au bon dieu?

it is def. a big crowd-pleasing comedy in the tradition of my big fat greek wedding, bienvenue chez les ch'tis etc. and it works well in that respect cause the punchlines really hit. i got a bit bored between that though. and as some do, you could make a case that the "everybody has the racist stereotypes"-joke makes it all in all "ok" to be racist. cause the africans hate us french as well, etc. in this sense the ending is real clichéd and supersweet, no bitterness or radicality left...

(pretty sure an american remake will follow..)
