Outlander (Starz)
This fantasy/science-fiction series premieres Saturday, August 8th, on Starz.
The channel does not, in my opinion, have the best record in regard to original programming (though I did, with notable reservations, enjoy Camelot), but I am rather intrigued by this series. It could be entertaining and sweeping, so I will give it a chance.

Spartacus was awesome. Party Down was good. Camelot was kinda shitty. Didn't watch anything else I think. I'm not sold on the plot.

Re: Outlander (Starz)
I hope this is good. I'll wait to see the general audience response first though.
Reviews seem mixed. It will probably be in the same quality as Camelot and White Queen which were forgettable shows. It makes me worry about how American Gods will turn out. The only good show Starz produced was Spartacus
I guess this show will be a huge hit like Spartacus

This is fantastic so far. The lead actress, Caitriona Balfe, should be considered for awards. Beautiful costumes, photography, etc., too.

There are officially too many shows on TV. I can't keep up anymore.

Way too many shows I want to see. I've downloaded the pilot for this, seems like a show I could like.

The show is alright. A little too slow but still interesting. Caitriona is a major hottie.

Re: Outlander (Starz)
This series is a gem. Very exciting, intuitive, sexy, and atmospheric. The female lead is so beautiful and talented. It has these intricate and lengthy scenes which twist and turn and tease and subvert one's initial expectations, such as the one with Claire dining with the British soldiers at their camp.
I believe the next episode, the eighth overall, is a mid-season finale.

I hope you enjoy it. Of the first half of the season, the sixth episode is my favorite.

Just finished the first episode and while I wasn't immediately hooked, I'm definately intrigued. Let's see where this is going.

Re: Outlander (Starz)
This returned tonight (not "season two," they say, but rather part two of season one) with a very exciting and sexy episode. Caitriona Balfe seriously deserves Emmy and Golden Globe consideration for this series.

The episode before the finale still haunts me. That was some brutally intense stuff.

Re: Outlander (Starz)
Indeed. The season went a couple very grim places. Maybe even more intense than Game of Thrones in terms of emotional impact since this series does not numb you with weekly decapitations, rapes, etc.

Just started this over the weekend. Six episodes in. Caitriona Balfe is fantastic and really engaging - the character of Claire is great and what is keeping me interested.

Re: Outlander (Starz)
I believe your appreciation will deepen during the second half of the season, particularly the episodes "The Search" and "Wentworth Prison."

Frank > Jamie.
Jamie sucks. I hope she goes back to Frank by the end of the series - I miss him in the second half.

Odd opinion. Jamie is an awesome, rich character. Frank is very thinly sketched.

Re: Outlander (Starz)
I finished this the other day. Really solid first season anchored by a fantastic central performance. I have to admit that a few plot threads bored me (I'm not generally that into historical fiction) but there were some incredible episodes and the whole thing is so cinematic and gorgeous to look at. I'm looking forward to season 2.

Re: Outlander (Starz)
The first episode of the second season is terrific. I loved the midway transition from "present" (1948) to past.
