Post Re: True Blood - The Final Season!
I thought it was a really good premiere. A little slow but it did a good job setting up the season. I really wish it wasn't announced they were killing off a main character before the credits rolled though. I hate when they do that shit and it made it so obviously as to who it would be too. Tara's death was kind of a cop out. It would have been nice to actually see her death, she has been a series regular for 6 seasons.

The trailer at the end of the episode for the season looked EPIC.

The premiere was basically a hot ass mess like this show has been of late. Tara's "death" (not even on screen, really?) was such a non-event. I've been a fan of this show for years but I'm glad this is the last season, it's getting really tired.

Definitely a very flawed start to the season. Suspense is curiously muted considering what I presume is an almost apocalyptic scenario with the diseased vampires. The band of four or five anti-vampire townspeople is going to become very old very fast ("WE ARE GOING TO SERVE OUR OWN BRAND OF BON TEMPS JUSTICE!" - "Oh, go home." - "...all right"). And I could not be less invested in Sookie and Alcide's relationship and its ups and downs. It is astonishing how extraneous the ostensible main character's scenes felt in the premiere.

Tara's death sure is ignoble. A completely squandered moment of potential power. I am sure they hoped the abrupt nature of it would astound people and create this tense air of, "Wow, everything will be in flux this season," but it played as an afterthought.

I did love the scenes with Jessica guarding Adylin in the house.

The premiere was mediocre aside from the Jessica scenes and the scene with Sookie in the church at the end. Hopefully things pick up.

From what I've heard Tara will be back in some form soon. I guess people are saying she didn't really meet the true death after all.

Strong episode tonight. I enjoyed the atmosphere of dread, and I am glad almost every character is now in a precarious and propulsive place.

I take back every bad thing I have ever said about True Blood entirely because of tonight's cold open. Holy shit.

Tonight's episode was certainly better than the premiere. There were a few genuinely creepy and tense scenes.

The one character/subplot I could definitely live without is Tara's mother.

No Eric! There are some really interesting set ups as of now. The Ghost town scenes with that group are definitely the best so far. Tara's mom I wish would just die already, I actually think Tara will still be alive, only her mother saw it.

I am really upset if this means Jessica has HEP-V.

What? because her bite didn't heal, I assume that's something with the Fairy's that we haven't seen yet. I noticed that when she zapped the girl in town it was a red light as opposed the usually plain white.

Ok, this episode was awesome, and the ending was just ridiculous. Looks like no one will be safe moving forward. Also, no idea what the ninja vampires are, but Eric, Pam vs. newland with these ninjas is already my favorite subplot

I wasn't surprised at all to see Alcide bite the dust. Since the werewolves are gone he doesn't have much to do anyway. I've never cared for his character either, so I don't really care. I was banking on him not making it to the finale. I am a bit surprised they killed him off so early though.

So happy Anna Camp is back. I hope she doesn't get killed off ridiculously fast and she has some stuff to do for a few episodes.

I seriously doubt she has HEP-V. I'm guessing she's not healing because she hasn't been feeding.

I'm really gonna miss Joe Manganiello's obscenely attractive body which provokes dirty thoughts among all. Not the character of Alcide so much, though.

I cannot deal with one more second of Lettie Mae scenery chewing. NOT ONE MORE. Make Tara undead so we don't have to deal with this.

I know, can't they just make a shitty webisode of "Tara Where'd you go baby!" Which is a shame the Reverend and Willow scene was actually very nice. Hopefully by rescinding the invitation, that'll be the end of it. Pam said she felt Tara die, so I guess she really is gone.

I'm glad Alcide is gone too, after season 5 he got way too overplayed as the wolves were always stupid outside of him. The couple scenes between Bill and Sookie were great, and it's hard to believe it's been 4 seasons since they have really been mostly antagonists to one another. Hoyt's mom was just awesome though, so glad she finally died.

She's signed on for multiple episodes. Thank god - she's always been the best character on this show.

I thought we were going to finally see her nude, I think her and Pam are the only characters in the history of the show not to. Such a pity. Here's to the Pam/ Sarah/ Eric/ three way!

Jessica hasn't been nude either.

I saw her nude when she was in Equus on Broadway with Daniel Radcliffe. :P

She's been nude two or three times on the show. I remember when as she was randomly dressed as little red riding hood

Great final ten minutes tonight. I was so worried for Arlene and thought the scene between her, Sookie and Terry was really well done.

Also, Hoyt!

I highly enjoyed the episode. It was nice to see the various characters come together and go into action as a unit. True Blood needs more of this. I also found the scene between Jessica and Lafayette (two of the best characters) truly poignant.

Though perhaps not necessary (other than to shoehorn in an introduction to the secret entrance to Fangtasia), the flashbacks with Eric and Pam and their video store were wonderful.

Of every character, I realize now Sam is the one I am most tired of. I just find him unpleasant and uninteresting this season, and the writers are unfolding the "story" of the town discovering his supernatural ability lazily.

Yeah, this was easily the best one of the season so far. I really enjoyed seeing Fangtasia's backstory (and Ginger lol).

Arlene and Sookie getting drunk was the highlight of this episode.

I couldn't care less about what happens to Eric. Can they kill him off now please and just give the storyline to Pam individually?

I would have been so pissed if they killed Sarah so I was glad she made it out of this episode alive.
