One hour season premiere next Monday!

The more I hear about how this season will play out, along with the promos released thus far, the more I believe this show will truly go out on a high note. Either way it's definitely going to be a crazy ride that I know will be truly sad to see end next May but i have faith in Carter and Bays.

I'm probably most interested in seeing The Mother's story play out now as there will apparently be a good bit of flashbacks to where her and Ted almost met. Seeing her story I think will be an excellent way to make their meeting even better than the mere nmeeting we would have gotten had the show ended last season.

Plus, there are so many little things that still need to be closed (such as the slap bet) which will keep the season filled with plenty of laughs.

Really loved the last scene of present Ted vs. future Ted. If the other flash forwards are similar, they could make things even better.

Wonder if Sarah Chalke will be making an appearance this season after that flashback in the first half.

Also, the show's decision to have all of the characters meet The Mother before Ted does seems really smart. We're gonna get to spend time getting to know her while they play fair with the show's premise.

The premiere was great! Very funny and the ending was delightful.

I am going to be thrown off this season by how much Cristin Miloti resembles Alyson Hannigan at certain angles.

I really enjoyed both episodes.

First half of the premiere was kind of terrible. The black lady has to be one of the worst characters they've ever come up with. Hopefully the second half is better. Though at this point I'm in it till the end no matter what.

Really hated the premiere episodes, barely laughed...

The second episode was better, not by much though. A long Marshall and Daphne road trip is something that nobody deserves. The hotel guy who was on Heroes was almost as bad, and I assume we'll have to deal with him most of the season as well. Are they introducing these terrible new characters to show us how cool the mom is by comparison?

Another fantastic episode.

This episode seemed to prove that Carter and Bays know what they're doing when it comes to the short amount of time this season is meant to cover as tonight felt like stories that would probably happen in half an hour to an hour. It was also really great to go back and see some great little flashbacks from the show so far. Especially loved seeing the return of the swordfighting!

This was also probably one of the best Lily/Ted arcs we've had on the show and it was proven by Lily's speech at the end. Plus, great cliffhanger to leave on.

Honestly if this season keeps up with the storytelling and laughs, this will be the show's best season as it is already approaching some of the best we saw in its first few years.

They are really on point with this whole last season. Loved Ted and Lily, loved the joke that the utterance of "Mandy Patinkin" attracts senior citizens like zombies.

I hope "Thank you, Linus" appears in every episode this season. They might as well commit.

Great episode tonight.

This show has had some bad episodes in the past. My least favorite thus far had been the "is what we should have done" episode. Season 9 has now beaten that three times. Do they care that straight men are still watching this show? Or am i just the sucker? Marshall and Lily are ruined and Barney/Robin are heading that way Making him put on the Packers jersey was cold and a new low for Lily. Also a new low for Marshall, as he truly is acting like a bitch. Daphne remains the most annoying character on television. So while this show has been poor in the past, it was at least always a notch above the other shitty CBS sitcoms. No longer.

It's like Entourage all over again. OK I'm done ranting and I swear I won't be back in here complaining every week. I'll try to stick it out, but in case I don't I'll need Levy to let me know when/if it gets better.

I feel like you're in the minority, though. Pretty much everyone seems to be really enjoying this season so far. Look at AV Club and such.

That's possible. The entire show seemed off to me the moment it started this year.

At the end of last year I was complaining about the story direction (Robin should be the mother) , but I was still enjoying the show. I don't know what happened if it's just me.

No, Robin shouldn't be the Mother.

Not only was that never hinted at, it was never an option.

Except for the entire first two seasons? The only reason they broke up is because Robin said she didn't want to get married. Now she does, so what's the problem?
