No, but really. Everything was perfect. Everything.

The scene with Gretchen and Elliott? As I said before, just a total subversion of expectations and masterfully tense.

The scene with Walt and Skyler (with final guest appearances from Marie and Jr.)? Just...perfect. Anna Gunn conveyed so many things on this show without saying a word. And Walt finally being honest and saying the words out loud. It may have started out being about his family, but that's not what it was. So powerful.

Chekhov's Ricin being the end for fidgety Lydia? Perfect. Walt rescuing Jesse a final time? Perfect. Jesse slowly, painfully choking Todd to death? Perfect.

Collapsing from a gunshot wound that came from his own hand...in a meth lab. Right before the police get there. PERFECT.

I. Can't. Stop. Gushing.

Excellent finale. I was so happy that everyone I wanted to survive did. And the last scene was badass. This will probably deservedly sweep the Emmys next year.

Though I did think of the "Lost" finale IMMEDIATELY as soon as that last shot of Walter on the ground happened ;)

I was 100% sure he was going to use the ricin on his old business partners (Elliot & whatshername). lol but to use them the way he did was brilliant.

best feel good moment.......Jessie killing Todd
2nd best.......Lydia & the sugar packet :funny:

Walt owning up to Skylar was a great moment. She needed to hear it and he definitely needed to say it.

Great fucking ending to a great fucking show.

BRAVO, VINCE! BRAVO!!!!!! :notworthy:

These last few episodes have been so satisfying, feeling like an extended series finale--obviously with Ozymandias being the epic climax explosion of all things and these last two letting all the aftermath wash over everyone and getting farewells for everyone.

When I rewatch these last eight episodes with my friend who waits for DVD that is going be one fun and exhausting day.

I wanted more Marie, though. Sad these last couple only had a scene in each for her (I believe), but I was glad to see she remained in her home in this last one. But glad we got to see Badger and Skinny Pete once more ;)

Yeah, I actually wanted more Marie as well. I was relieved she didn't die though.

Also, as great as the finale was I personally thought that "Ozymandias" was a better episode overall.

Huh? the ending mirros perfectly the final scene of Crawl Space.

Heck Walt's in the same position it was on that episode.

I'm not sure anyone would disagree, even Vince Gilligan. It's clear that "Ozymandias" is the emotional climax of the series. "Felina" is the denouement.

Aside from the power of Jesse's escape, the most powerful moment in this was Walt finally giving a truthful admission to Skyler. Such a brilliant way for Walt and Skyler to part from each other.

a little too neat. walt didn't deserve a hero's death. as cool as the machine gun was, wouldn't the nazis check the trunk?

I don't think Walt really died a hero's death. He still died having indirectly caused Hank's death, widowing Marie, probably damaging Skyler's psyche forever, and causing his children to view him as a monster for the rest of their lives. I think he died as Walter White and not as Heisenberg, and he died with some peace knowing he made things better than they were before, but there was a large cost there.

I keep seeing people online asking why the Nazis didn't check the trunk. Why would they? Checking Walt makes sense because he's coming inside. Checking his car parked outside doesn't. They weren't exactly counting on an attack. They thought he was a desperate man making a play for cash.

It's a very, very satisfying finale. I don't think it's quite as transcendent as the finales of THE SHIELD and SIX FEET UNDER, but it absolutely lives up to the rest of the series. I can't wait to go through the whole thing from start to finish.

The machine gun going off was one of the ultimate "FUCK YEAH" moments of all time.

I had a hunch Badger and Pete would make an appearance, but didn't want to go through with making it an official prediction.

And in a series known for some damn good popular music cues, "Baby Blue" might've been my favorite.

this gets at a lot of my issues with the finale: http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/c ... iewed.html

not to say that structuring the whole thing as walt's dying fantasy would've been any better, but i think it would've been more true to the theme of this final half-season

Why?

When Walt is asked if the car has a 350 or 500 - he replies "couldn't tell ya". Which, gives the indication he either hasn't owned the car long, or stole it, maybe even rented it.

It was definately a lot softer than I expected but I couldn't tell you one thing I didn't wanted to happen in this episode.

Sometimes a story has a clear trajectory. Constantly trying to one-up the audience is just silly.

It was "predictable" because it's where this story should end. Walt tears down the empire he built up and finds some measure of control as he dies.

Reactions here as expected from almost each and every one ;)

The "Breaking Bad" finale is so difficult to judge because Gilligan and his team spoiled us so so much.

Before I get more detailled, I wanna say two things:

1. It was an extremely satisfying finish

2. It has pointed out to me just how BRILLIANT the finale of The Shield was and, in fact, maybe unreachable. Among other things becasue what The Shield pulled off at the end, it can only work once. Breaking Bad's finale was great, even grand, yes. Most of all, as I said, satisfying. But it was not brilliant. It left me with a big smile. The Shield's finaly wow'ed me.

As you should. BB's finale was terrific and, in its own way, I suppose perfect. I guess it just never had the chance to reach the height's of The Shield's finale, which in direct comparison, is undeniably better better better.
