Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
I like that article mostly agree with it, though the show has still always been good at delivering "awesome" moments even when Walt was at his worst (Gus's assassination, "Say my name"), so I think the deaths of the Neo-Nazis will still be fist-pumping moments in their own way (and really, after wronging the mostly-innocent Jesse that way, they so deserve it). But as he almost always does, I agree that Gilligan will still find a way to subvert that. Something similar to the first season finale of 24, where he got Jack being awesome and shooting up the villains, but ended on a punch (or bullet) to the gut.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
I think it is all a matter of perception, though.
The article states that the deaths of the Nazis might not feel good. But the implications might just go over most viewers' heads, who'll still be cheering on Heisenberg blasting them away.
Just like there has ALWAYS been a sizable fanbase of the show that has been rooting for Walter, even at his worst and even more now. They'll cheer him on, no matter what.
I am repeating this for the umpteenth time, but the characters of Walter and Vic Mackey in The Shield are very similar and The Shield resolved this conflict (between having a bad character, whom many consider badass) in a VERY satisfying way, without ever betraying itself.

And thus, I think a lot of people will be celebrating when Breaking Bad fades to black.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
Anyone think they will setup for a Breaking Bad movie? Vince Gilligan was part of the X-Files, which had 2 feature films. Although I have yet to watch that series I'm sure its vastly different from BB. But do you think the though of continuing BB ever occurred to anyone involved? And just for fun, how much do you think it could make. I mean if a piece of shit like Sex and the City can open to $57mil.....

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
No way. I think everything would consider that a betrayal of the series' legacy and a cheat. Gilligan won't go for that.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
Back in May Gilligan said in an interview: Quote: In my mind, the ending is a victory for Walt. You might see the episode and say, “What the fuck was he talking about?” But it’s a somewhat happy ending, in my estimation. Which makes me think that he means that Walter will prevail over Heisenberg. He might sacrifice himself to save Jesse.

I think what the article means is that they wouldn't be where they are now without Heisenberg.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
So, whom would you all rather win the Best Supporting Actor Emmy (strongly assuming it will go to Breaking Bad) - Aaron Paul or Dean Norris? It's such a tough call....

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
Dean Norris was fantastic in Blood Money and is possibly the most underrated actor on the show. But there's no denying Aaron Paul deserves it. Especially in Confessions and Granite State.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
Miley Cyrus on Breaking Bad:
"Breaking Bad I just got into, but I haven't been able to keep up with it as much," the 20-year-old star said during her interview with Rolling Stone. "There's just a lot of him coughing. I'm in the first season, and the coughing is driving me crazy."
She continued, "Like, we get it. You're dying. Do you really need a whole two-minute scene of another cough attack? It's too much. In every bad situation, how does he get out? He just starts coughing."
It's okay, Miley. Breaking Bad doesn't want you as a viewer.

Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
It's ironic, since Hannah Montana goes to the same school as Walt Jr. Look for RJ Mitte's cameo on Cracked, ha.

The episode is good so far but the Fucking commercial breaks every 8 minutes, its killing the momentum some.
