Come on people, last season wasn't that bad (Not Entourage season 7 bad)
Great beginning.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
Last season was one of the worst seasons for any TV show I have ever watched.
Haven't watched the premiere. It is on my DVR but whatever.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
It's back, like Season 3 back. I think the strong thing was really cutting back on the subplots. Andy's is hilarious though. Bill being likable again is I'm sure going to change at some point, but right now it's very smart.

yeah last season was bad, and this season hasn't gotten off to a good start. It doesn't help that GOT makes this look really terrible.

Last season was really bad. The Lillith/council stuff was awful. I'm 30 minutes into the premiere and it's not bad so far.

This show has gotten pretty ridiculous but it's still really entertaining all the same.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
last season had so much potential. They killed of the head of the authority (he seemed like a waste of a character) then the Billith crap. The only reason I keep watching is for Rutger Hauer, I am curious about his character.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
I enjoyed the season premiere. I have never invested in the notion this series has endured an enormous dip in quality. It is a bit inferior now, but still potently trashy fun.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
I feel like people who complain about a major drop in quality are overvaluing the older seasons. I watched seasons 1-4 in one go not long before season 5 started, and it's always been amusingly trashy and regularly terrible in a campy kind of way. The only thing season 5 had that made it a bit less enjoyable was that it was just... boring for much of it.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
Season 2 was the best season and it deservingly got nominated for the Emmy. I also really liked seasons 1 and 4 as well. Seasons 3 and 5 were eh.

I liked Season 3 the best mainly because of the king of the Louisiana because he was by far the best villain of the show.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
Yeah 2 and 3 were great, and led in. The cliffhanger to season 2 was just insane. I really enjoyed the witches storyline too, even if it was a little silly. 5 started so promising, but I still wouldn't call it bad, it had a lot of fun moments like season 1. And I agree all seasons have terrible parts to them, but the awesomeness overcomes it most of the time.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
Deborah Ann Woll is really the best actor on this show now. Her performance is much classier than the show itself.

That was a great episode, Bill feeding on that girl may have been the most disturbing thing ever on the show.

Thegun wrote: That was a great episode, Bill feeding on that girl may have been the most disturbing thing ever on the show. It looked too cheesy to be disturbing, imo. But this episode did capitalize on Stephen Moyer's limited acting range by rendering him catatonic through most of it. My favorite moment was probably Lafayette watching Chopped. Because of course he has great taste in TV shows. Or Arlene yelling at Sookie to get her ass to work. Everything with the werewolves and Naked Bloody Ladies with Merkins can go away, though. It pains me to say I don't want to see Joe Manganiello on camera, but good lord, what a waste of time.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
I agree the effects were bad, but it was so random and so creepy, it actually added to it for me. I laughed at Chopped too.
Alcede on a power trip is a lame subplot. It's like everytime sookie has a love interest, the next season they have to make him completely unlikeable. Definitely leading to the half ferry now. I like Rutger a lot though. Sam's plot will no doubt be the worst again.

 Re: True Blood Season 6
Having lost interest in the story, I stopped watching the series a couple episodes into Season 4. But I want to catch back up again. I can't find the episodes online anywhere and don't want to invest any (much) money into the series though since I don't enjoy it that much, so does anyone know of a place I can watch the series for free or little (very) cost?

 Re: True Blood Season 6
Man, there's some stuff going on that I don't care for (mostly Bill and Alcide), but this season is quite a step up for me so far compared to season 5. No Authority and actually spending some time with characters I like is a definite step in the right direction. The Bill stuff is terrible, but it works for me as long as Jessica's involved, because she's awesome. I wish we'd get some more Lafayette, Arlene and Andy at the cost of the werewolf bullshit, but other than that I'm getting on just fine with this season. I'm even starting to like Nora, who I didn't care for last season, now that she's removed from the Authority bullshit and interacting with people like Pam. Re: True Blood Season 6
I wonder how long the series will go on for. Can't see the cast wanting to go on for a very long time. I suppose season 8 will be the last.
