Stupid it may be, but sometimes you have to take drastic measures to prevent a situation from getting totally out of hand, and it worked in your case. BKB feeds off the very stuff that has been going on all day , and if asking nicely isn't going to get it to stop, I have to stoop to the level of unleashing the horror of what could come, and if you've ever seen what BKB is capable of, the utter destruction, you would be thankful that at least one guy here gives you some hope of not having to deal with it.
Seriously, I know it's tough to do what you just did. BKB is an entity unto himself, and he evokes so many frustrating emotions in those he opposes. He trolls better than anybody I've ever seen. There is a reason why I can handle his trolling, and believe me, he trolls threads about movies I am really looking forward to as well. I'm just trying to help you all out so your stress levels come down over this. If the rest of you follow what you just did, it will be over quickly, I promise.

Frankly the only emotion BKB evokes from me any more is laughter. Back in the day at BOM I would get frustrated with him, but the more I've seen of him, the less I care about the content of what he says. All I can do is laugh and also marvel at the fact that such a.......unique individual could exist.

heh, I won't fall for that.
Well, there was just something strange about you saying you are the only one who can contain BKB. The way you admire and praise BKB seems strange as well, along with the way you defend BKB even when it doesn't seem he needs to be defended. It can all be explained by you being his good friend, but still it can, at a moment like that, make it seem that he is your double account.

I dont think Spiderman 2005 said AH will underperform to spite BKB because what she said is very true. Its been what I have been saying all along since Boogieman opened, the abundance of too many horrors will hurt each other. Its no longer special when the same genre movie comes out every 3 weeks. So yes like the old saying goes what comes up must come down. Just looking at the formula for AH, its looking like a generic horror movie, so yes The Ring 2s number being underwhelming would probably hurt AH.

Anyway, as to The Ring Two, I'm certainly disappointed. It will earn a nice profit, and it might be one of the highest grossing horror films ever, but It won't get close to beating the original, and it's highly unlikely that it will beat The Grudge. There is even a good chance it will be the first 40m opener to fall short of 100m. I think Dreamworks must have dropped the ball on this one. While the trailer was great, the TV spots were not as good as they could have been. Perhaps, the March release date was also a very good idea. Perhaps Regal had a greater effect then I expected. However, I don't know the real reason it opened like this, because if I did I would have been predicting alot lower. In any case, I do think there was lost potential here.
I was dead wrong with my prediction. Congrats to Mike Q and Shades for calling our predictions crazy. I don't quite think they were crazy based on the success of other sequels to films with great WOM. Anyway, congrats to the low predictors.

I wonder what he'll do if TAH bombs? I predict 22.8 for its opening. Far cry from his 50 million dollar prediction.

Well, if it makes any difference, since you still have suspicions (and did before) of such a ridiculous notion, and since you didn't have the smarts to realize that your comments will do nothing but fuel BKB, I'm no longer questioning your intellect.
How exactly do I admire and praise BKB? I just said something to him a few weeks ago about him saying something I didn't care for. When he trolls threads about Fantastic Four , and he does, and you can look at my signature to see where I rank it, I don't start calling him names, and bashing him, I simply present facts, or don't reply. I'm always telling people exactly how to take the wind out of his sails. I'm always offering good advice on how to completely destroy his trolling operation. I'm always taking little jabs at him. (joking, of course) How exactly is this praising him?
The truth is, even if it hurts anybody to hear it, is that nobody here really has a chance of containing him but me, without pissing him off in the process. If you think you can do it, or if you know somebody else who can manage things, you'll probably understand why I'm not questioning your intellect anymore.

The Ring Two did okay, but I expected at least $20 million on its opening day, and Ice Princess did so poorly. So much for my $15 million prediction.

My comments could fuel BKB, and I could care less. I don't want to contain him, and I wouldn't care to see someone else do it. On the forums, I expect BKB to act like himself as much as I expect Friday estimates to come out on Saturday. If BKB goes on a rampage over the Ring Two's numbers, it won't bother me.

I have never seen a person create as much havok with his opinions as BKB does. They even had a trial at RT over him. He has a destructive posting style that takes no prisoners, and causes many to get completely torn up inside over it. DP07 wrote: My comments could fuel BKB, and I could care less. Well, it won't bother me personally either, but it would bother some people here that I really like, and because of them , I'd rather BKB just have his fun for the weekend, and then move onto his next trolling adventure, even if my beloved Fantastic Four is his target. I wouldn't want him to change either, as I understand the importance of having him posting here. I still will stick up for him if anybody acts like it's his fault for really rubbing it in their faces good, after they provoked him to do exactly that with comments and sour grapes , but if they are big about the whole thing, and BKB doesn't respect that, and rubs it in their faces non stop anyway for weeks, I'd ask him to stop. There is nobody here that will more quickly admit he was wrong than BKB. He doesn't start taking shots at the people who were right. I'd just like to see more people step up to the levels he always does, that's all.

Well, I had opening day pegged at 10 Million, give or take up to 12 Million and I was wrong.. 15 Million is still good I suppose, but hardly the upper 20+ Million in 1 day everyone was expecting and certainly no 50 Million or more weekend which does prove that the fanbase for this asian horror stuff hasn't tripled since the RING came out in 2002 or whenever that was and has remained about the same..

That's true. I had it pegged at $16.5 million, so I wasn't too far off. It will be interesting to see the actuals on Monday.

How about both parties just say they were half-right and call it a day?

As far as the underwhelming number goes, maybe, just maybe, many people felt like I did about the first one. It was a good movie, but nothing great, and not scary at all like people tried to exaggerate that it was. I remember the big deal that was made over the first one, and everybody going on and on about how scary it was. I was glad that I didn't fall for it, and rented it instead , because it wasn't scary at all. From what I've gathered, WOM on this one is probably going to kill it.
Some of you guys were going way overboard on those predictions, and I would suggest staying away from all threads about this movie for your own safety until it's out of theaters, because BKB will have no mercy on your souls. :bur:
I'll be gentle.. On a side note however, I knew that something just wasn't right when the 20 screen theatre I normally go to, wasn't even 1/2 full last night at this time, around 7 and the same thing tonight happened as well.. Hell when a movie like one of the SW prequels or the LOTR movies were out, the lot was overly packed, but christ it's been dead all weekend..
