Breaking Bad: Season 5 (THE END)
Premieres Sunday. I'm soooo ready to watch this live after I devoured the first four seasons in less than a month!

Same here. Although, I'm so used to watching episode after episode after episode on Netflix that waiting for a new one every weeks is going to be torture.

 Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5
"I forgive you." It's amazing how such a simple sentence can come across so chilling. Skyler is screwed, and Walt's kinda (no, very) frightening.
The magnet thing was nuts and kind of awesome. "Magnets, bitch!" I'm glad Mike is back in the game after sitting the last few episodes of season 4 out.
Poor dumb sadsack Ted Beneke isn't dead like everyone thought. I actually felt legitimately sorry for him.
What did y'all think about the cold open? I'm guessing that's a few months/a year into the future, Walt's cancer has resurfaced and it's the beginning of the end.
Also: No, AMC, I will not watch Small Town Security just to see scenes from the next episode. Try again next time.

 Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5
Well, the series began with Walt's 50th birthday, and it was his 52nd birthday in the cold open, so I'm guessing it's about a year in the future. Since I think about a year has passed on the show.

Since I think about a year has passed on the show. Yeah, that makes sense. It's an interesting idea to have the first 4 seasons comprise only a year, but the last season to be spread over a year alone. At least if that's how they're planning on doing it.

I hate Walt so much and the final scene between him and Skyler was terrifying.

I think one of my favorite bits was Walt asking Jesse to spot him some money, and Jesse unquestionably doing so. Funds have always been a thorn in things for the longest time re: Jesse/Walt so--regardless of what comes down the road for them--that was a nice moment. Oh yeah, also this show is ridiculously amazing and I will only be able to experience these truly wonderful 50-ish minute chunks of time 15 more times before it goes away. At least there are 15 more, though

 Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5
Mike is the best. Oh my god. Jonathan Banks needs a spinoff when this show ends.
Also, as if Walt couldn't possibly get any creepier: his lecherous sexual advances towards his near catatonic wife at the end of this episode made my skin crawl.

 Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5
Also, Jesse is now the most heartbreaking character on TV. I felt actual anger when he was crying last night and being completely manipulated into feeling that way by Walt. I'm still patiently waiting for him to find out about Jane, let alone the Lily of the Valley. Some day.
Although Skyler, despite her inherent flaws, might be giving him a run for his money. She's been so victimized and trapped this season already, and nothing has even really happened.

Short of distracting to see Skylar's weight fluctarate between season 3 to 4 to 5.

If Bryan Cranston's weight had "fluctarated" (which I'm going to assume means "fluctuated," sweet spelling skillz) and not Anna Gunn's, El Murato would not have commented. End of story. I'd rather not open that can of worms and crowd this thread.

Do you read every criticism at shows you like as being sexist? It just seems to be an ongoing issue with you with your condescending tone when I had commented on stuff about Good Wife not making it as best drama contender as an example

Do ya'll think he was like this at all before during his marriage or is it the drugs for his cancer that has contributed to his jekyl/hyde episodes or is it all due to the power trips he has experienced while in his other line of work?

I just couldn't stop when I started watching an episode so it was almost a full season each night. My favorite parts from season 4 were Jessie's dressing down of the cartel chemist and the meeting between chicken man and salamanca. I've enjoyed the music in the show as well.

So...I think that final scene completely foreshadows what's to come in this season.

 Re: Breaking Bad: Season 5
That was amazing: simultaneously hilarious (because Marie can be so annoying, although I do kind of love her) and horrifying because Skyler is so pathetically trapped in her own existence right now and the breakdown just rang so true. Her meekly asking Walt if it was a good idea to return home and him just saying "yes" was so sad, and it was a simple exchange. And then the Scarface moment at the end..."everyone dies in this, right"? Shiver. Anna Gunn has been terrific this season. I'm reaching the point where watching Walt work his master manipulations over everyone else is almost making me physically uncomfortabe. First, essentially manipulating Jesse into breaking up with his girlfriend (also, how crayzay was that scene where he was sitting alone with Brock?). Then, using Skyler's indiscretion against her explaining things to Marie. Yikes. And then, of course, the end. I want the Walt v. Jesse face-off to begin now. Preferably with Mike, who is now very much involved, contributing.
