Boardwalk (though I only saw a few episodes cause I got bored of it) and GOT I watched downloaded HD copies after they were over with friends (i dont like downloading but I dont mind friends risking their comps to download). I could wait again for GOT but I dont mind streaming just to stay current. Do you know anybody who has HBO? I say that because you can get HBO GO from them by registering or having them register for you.

Few people have HBO compared to AMC...

I still think you should try to watch it on cable tv or dvd because alot of the dialogue is heavily accented and you may miss alot of important details without closed captioning on. Like Savador San mentioning to Davos how Stannis repaid him by cutting off his fingers (I hope they go into that in more detail for non-readers because its a very interesting story) It sucks that HBO Go doesnt offer that feature

We don't see much of his perspective in the book so I can sorta of see why they want to add them. The funny thing is I would say there are at least two characters who are more fucked up than him in this series. The Mountain is a real sicko as we have already seen some of his exploits. And then there is one other character Ramsey Snow who is the most messed up person I can think of

I agree that this was the best episode of the season. Much better than the last one. Love all the Tyrion and Arya scenes. The Renly/Stannis meet up was also well done. Cant wait for the next one!!

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
Although I did love the shadow pregnancy I thought this would have been a better cliff hanger because that particular cliff hanger happens early in next weeks episode Next weeks episode says that Catelyn flees after the fued between the Baratheons ended. IT could only mean that Renly's assasination happens early in next weeks episode. I thought that should have been saved for yesterdays episode

Is it an evil all powerful being formed? It isn't really evil. It is a shadow creature that has a purpose. If you want to be spoiled but there are hints there in the episode on what it will do. It is going to kill a certain king . It is dark magic but at this point you don't really know Melisandra's agenda.

The Black Magic parts in the show are weird but in the end some of the best parts.
Seeing the dragon in the end of the last season was beyond cool.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
Question!
I'm reading Book 1 now and Illyrio says to that they in the Free Cities don't fear the Dothroaki because the Lord of Light would hold their city walls against a million of them, or so the red priests promise.
Clearly the Red Priestess currently advising Stannis worships the same Lord of Light, but does she, and all red priests (she is the only one revealed so far), originate from the Free Cities?
If the question can be answered without spoilers, I'd appreciate it.

That clears it up. Thanks for the quick reply!
I don't remember Illyrio mentioning either the Lord of Light or any red priests in the show.

I don't think they showed Thoros of Myr in the first season either.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
This is a great series so far. Better than Lord of the Rings, though I doubt most on wokj would agree with that.
But it suffers from not enough episodes per season and so stuff feels crammed in and rushed at times. I know it's expensive but 2 more episodes per season would help a lot and it's probably HBO's most popular show right now so I'm not sure why they wouldn't do that. The storytelling is great but needs more room to breathe.
I haven't read the books and have no idea what the future holds but it looks like Jon and Arya are the long term heroes and I have a feeling Robb will die because he made that mistake heroes always make: he should have killed Jaimie the first chance he got. Which is a shame because Robb came out of nowhere half way through season 1 to be one of the coolest characters.
The only characters I'm invested in are: the Starks (including Jon), Daenerys, and Tyrion. Also to a lesser extent: Jorah and Bronn. The rest of them, no big deal if they die, and I assume many of them will.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
A.G - I agree that there should atleast be 12-13 episodes per season.
Book 3 is being broken up into 2 seasons (which will cover some of Book 2, Most of 3 and some of 4 and 5).
