This is "The X Factor" this isn't looking for the next Celine Dion, this show isn't looking for the perfect voice (Go to The Voice for that), this show is all about finding people who have "it", this show is looking for the next Britney Spears, Madonna.

And who better to judge this show than Britney Spears herself, she may not have the voice but she pretty much has everything else to make it big (and it's not like voice really matters in this bussines, otherwise Xtina would've been the real star and not Brit's shadow.)

Fox offered $10mil, Brit's team rejected and asked for $20mil, that $16mil figure is Fox's counter offer.

So if Britney accepts she'll be getting $16mil for the season? lol, that has to be the salary of all judges from last season.

Well... she will bring the ratings up that for sure but im honestly not sure if she will be a good judge, as a mentor she will shine since she has the experience but has a judge and making critical decisions, i dont know. But ill watch. :p

I doubt Fox cares if she makes a good judge or not, they know she brings ratings and that's what they care about.

Thats the least of their concern. They just want a good show and big ratings like you said.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but initial ratings won't keep up. The X Factor is damaged goods. It won't suddenly average over 20 million viewers next season.

The Britney news is finally official according to E! Online. She signed her contract today for one year at $15 million.

Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid will be the judges for the new season. Britney just tweeted this pic at upfronts.

I mean, I'm not sure I could even think of a bigger "get" than Britney Spears. So well done, X Factor. I might actually watch more consistently next season.

The difference in their figures isn't as big as it should be, Britney is easily 100 times the name/star that Demi is. I don't even know what I'm supposed to know Demi for.

I like Demi. If she can talk and judge properly and not stumble over herself like a fool (coughNicoleScherzinger), I'm fine. Same goes for Britney. What I fear is that both will be too nice, not offer proper criticism and The X Factor will continue to be a bad experiment.

Plus, I don't need this non-existent feud between Simon and L.A.

I have to add, it's 1-0 in Demi's favour in the dress department, so she has that on her side at least. I feel compelled to keep track of that this season...

This is where I remember Katy Perry when she filled in during the auditions for AI. She was so good. She didn't mind disagreeing and actually giving real opinions on the auditioner. She'd be a great judge to listen to imo, but she's probably not interested in spending that much time but for 15 million I think she could have been swayed.

Yeah, that was the only time I liked Perry. I loved how she almost puked whenever the rest were "interested" to hear candidate's sad life story. She said something like "This is a singing competition,not Hallmark Channel." LOL. AI is seriously overdoing it with sob stories.

You have to be mistaken.

Demi Lovato is an excellent singer, and one of the best voices that has come from Disney in a really long time. She's one of the few young singers these days who can actually sing live, and sound better live in many cases. Not to mention her vocal range (D3-A5) blows Miley and Selena out of the water, and is greater than Britney, JLO, and any other female judges not named Christina Aguilera.
