Personally I think it's a WTF idea. They need a strong new drama or a comedy show. But I think if TV underwhelms this summer they might rethink this decision.

It's not a WTF move at all. Survivor and Undercover Boss both had huge post-SB numbers and maintained them the rest of their seasons.

I thought The Voice would end up being a flavor of the month thing, fading off as the summer went. But it did well on Tuesday. I don't think it'll ever have the staying power of Idol. By next year, most may have forgotten about it. Time will, as it does, tell the story.

Just watched the pilot for "Grimm." Interesting concept, terrible execution. The whole thing was just so boring.

"The Playboy Club" was quite good. Great production values and intriguing story and characters. It definitely feels mores suited for cable though. I'm not sure about its long term prospects.

I adored "Smash." Wonderful, charming, funny, instantly addictive and full of talented individuals - I didn't want it to end. Katherine McPhee was absolutely brilliant and the standout - I loved her performance here. The final musical number was as good as anything in a feature film. This is going to be a big hit.

I sure hope Parks & Rec doesn't totally flop in the ratings this season without the Office lead-in.

NBC hits it out of the ballpark with one of its comedy too. And I'm glad to see that one high concept show seems to be delivering the goods. Awake is NBC out-there show and it's getting good reviews so far. The same can't be said for The Playboy Club. Period pieces aren't cheap and expectations are high for this one. Whitney and Grimm bombed. I'm sad to see Grimm getting such bad reviews. I like shows like that. Though usually they do get much better later in the run.

Holy shit. The Applegate/Arnett comedy looks great. Glad too. I so want Christina to have a hit show.

You do realize this is on NBC, right? And their recent track record with new shows has been not so stellar. Be happy if this one falls somewhere in the middle of NBC shows. After all it's opening Wednesdays for NBC and going against The Middle, Survivor, The X-Factor.

EDIT: Meanwhile that wreck Shitney is getting the post The Office slot. ROFL.

But a hit on NBC is like 4 million viewers.

And how could I forget the 1.5 18-49 demo. You break the 1.5 barrier, you're golden!

Whitney seems so out of place with Community/Parks & Rec/The Office that I can see Up All Night or Free Agents replacing it before midseason.

I don't know if that would matter at that point. I expect NBC's Wednesday comedies to burn out fast considering the competition and Whitney is poised for low ratings. It looks horrid and so unappealing. NBC should pick either Up All Night or Free Agents and swap with Whitney NOW, before the season even starts. By midseason there will be too much damage to all three comedies and moving them around won't help much.

Not surprising at all about Whitney(Im guessing NBC is going retro by reliving those Veronica's Closet, Suddenly Susan, Single Guy days) Great to see Awake getting great reviews but too bad the wait is like another 6 months.

So what did go wrong with The Playboy Club? Did they get actresses who not only look playboy bunnies but have their acting abilities as well?

I'm looking forward to Parks and 30 Rock. None of the new shows look interesting and Awake looks like it should have been a movie instead.
