Re: "Glee" Thread - Sept 9 as scheduled!
57 minutes without commercials...
OK episode. Thank HIM there's no more Warblers. I thought their song was awful and then Kurt's song came. I had to fast forward it. It dragged on and on with him squealing all the way. Also am I the only one who thinks Kurt and Dave would be a better match than Kurt and Blaine?
This didn't have to be a "90" minute episode. Nothing much happened just like last week. Having 2 episodes is a row more dedicated to the songs than any kind of story development kinda shows how weakly plotted this season really is. They basically covered same theme last week too and it's a theme they've been covering from the start, so this bloated episode doesn't really make sense in general terms.

I somewhat agree the episode was a bit bloated at 90 minutes but it was good anyway, significantly better than last week's dull affair.

Re: "Glee" Thread - Sept 9 as scheduled!
I thought last night was great (if a tad overlong). This series works best when it focuses on continuing storylines and moving the plot forward than silly standalone arcs. For that reason, this episode worked. There was no Sue, which was needed (there's been a bit of an overkill with her lately), the Warblers were thankfully undermined and won't be around after this week (though I did like their final number with Kurt). And the musical numbers were all actually related to the plot (again, the Warblers' number could be the only questionable one with this statement). A lot of really, really great moments. I think the best part of the episode was the "Unpretty/I Feel Pretty" mashup, which was really effective and beautifully performed. "Born This Way" was really good and it was nice to see Tina get a solo where she wasn't incredibly weird. I even thought the "Barbra Streisand" dance sequence was fun, if a bit out of place. Naya Rivera has been the all-star the past few weeks in terms of performances. Santana is my favorite character right now and I think her storyline is being handled well. I thought Dianna Agron did some really nice work as well with her subplot. I also LOVED that Emma got a good episode to showcase Jayma Mays' talent. I thought her scene in the therapist's office was one of the most effective moments of the entire season.
I did have some problems. First off, I loathe Mike Chang. I dread every musical number that involves him in a large capacity (which might be why I didn't like Finn's number). Also, Kurt's song fit the plot well, but it really felt like it went on FOREVER and this was the point where I really felt the episode dragging.
Other than that, really great episode. I hope this season goes out on a high note.

It was weird seeing Tina having so much lines in this episode. She has become a bit chubby I noticed...

He is a talented singer, but it's just not my kind of music. I don't like a lot of his numbers. And I agree, the song seemed to go on forever. I've been loving Santana lately. I agree her storyline is being handled surprisingly well. I was thinking this episode of GLEE would be up in the ratings from last week. Can't believe it dropped yet again.

Re: "Glee" Thread - Sept 9 as scheduled!
Santana has quickly eclipsed Sue and Brittany as the character with all the best lines this season. I want Naya Rivera to get an Emmy nod but it won't happen.

The Britney episode / the highest rated episode of this show to not get American Idol run-over The Gaga named episode that was advertised as being about her song / the lowest rated episode of Glee in its history hmmm

And Glee's already done a (much more full-fledged) Gaga episode. I would just like to say that Dianna Agron is stunning in person, and Lauren Potter is the cutest thing ever. That is all.

Um, tonight's episode was AMAZING. Best episode of the season. I'd even go so far as to say it was the best episode since the mid-season finale of season 1. Santana's solo = Naya Rivera is flawless.

I can't believe how good tonight was. The "Songbird" scene was GORGEOUS (seriously, Naya Rivera is OWNING the episodes as of late), and the scene between Rachel/Finn/Sam at the end was so sweet.

The Warblers Glee album debuted at #2 on the Billboard chart. I'm surprised. I thought it was going to do weaker than the other Glee albums. http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/billboard-200

Re: "Glee" Thread - Sept 9 as scheduled!
Very good episode. Lots of character development and the music was spread all around.
As mentioned above, "Songbird" was exquisite. It's one of my favorite songs and they really did it justice here. Naya Rivera has quickly established herself as one of the strongest performers on this show, both in acting and singing. Poor Brittana.
The Sam thing was a little cliched and sappy but I still went for it. Loved "Don't Stop" and "Go Your Own Way."
Also, loved seeing Kristin Chenoweth as April again, and she was even used just the right amount (i.e. not too much).

Hopefully there will be a great Brittana moment during the prom episode.
