Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
No doubt the show will continue to build an audience. As expected it has been picked up for a 2nd season. As long as they do the third book im happy. Only issue - hopefully some of the general audience isnt turned off by the and of season 1. Regardless, WOM is brewing nicely on this one.
Now to casting Stannis!! Mel!! Yigritte. Davos! (though there is a chance they dont include Davos at all).

Well, I know I was sad when Ned died, and he is one of the big headliners for the show. I like to think they'll develop the other characters in the same way the book did, so people will over-ride their sadness with intrigue in what happens to remaining characters.

Rumor is Martin has a significant chunk of the next two books finished, and with the upcoming book finally finished, it should be MUCH easier for him to continue. I think he'll go a year and a half between each of the last few books. I personally don't think there will only be 7, I expect 8, but we'll see.

I also think it it will be easier for him to write the next two (especially if he has written some of them and if he doesnt get caught up in other things) as the "Meeraneese Knot" has been untied. Though knowing GRRM, he had the bulk of Dance finished when Feast came out - but then scrapped most of it. But i'll stay positive.

be.redy wrote: Oh, do you think season 3 (when HBO orders it, which it will ) will be split in two parts like the book? The book wasn't split in America, so it's not likely. I think Feast and Dragon being combined is a strong possibility. If the show catches up with the books they could always just continue the storyline on their own ala Dexter, which turned out just fine. The show has been absolutely living up to expectations so far. The pacing is far quicker than I ever expected, allowing them to devote more time to the important events at the end.

I agree with Flava'd - Book 3 should remain one season (albeit perhaps 12-14 episodes). Feast and Dance should be combined.

Another fantastic episode. Oh I can just tell I'm going to hate Joffrey. Fuckin' bitch. I felt so bad for Lady. It definitely feels like something big is going down soon.

Thats only a small slice of Joffrey. You will be even more pissed off at him during the last episodes of season 1

Yeah Joffrey is a turd.
Lady's killing aggh always hated it. I think in the books at first it isnt clear if Ned actually did kill her so I always hoped he let her go but he did.
Good to see your enjoying it Jmovies.

The character they got to play Joffrey is almost as perfect as Tyrion, you just hate him instantly.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
Sunday’s 9 pm airing was seen by 2.2 million viewers, steady with the premier, which is awesome. Now we need to grow!

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
Grrr I still haven't managed to find time to watch the second episode as I want to be sure no one will interrupt me at all. But I read that the viewership was steady which is awesome. I expect a rise next week. It was Easter Sunday after all which might have suppressed the numbers a bit. GoT isn't really a show you will sit down and watch on Easter with your family...

I thought the second episode was great. Very involving and poignant. I want Lena Headey's character to be punched in the face by the end of the season.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
Seems strange that HBO submitted their best supporting actor ballot that includes Jason Mormoa. Not to take anway from him but all that Drogo does is hump hump hump. They should have put in Harry Llyod who plays the Visyerls Tagarian instead Thanks for the info Eagle. It seems like Boardwalk Empire only resonates well with critics and not so much the general audience whereas GOT does well with both categories so far like Walking Dead BTW one question Did they change the outcome differently about the butcher boy? I somewhat remembering the book that it was the King who ordered the boy to be killed before passing the sentence to Lady and that Arya found out that the boy was killed. The show has the boy being killed from running away from the Hound

Nope, boy is killed by the Hound in the same manner. Ned sees the hound, and has the same verbal dialog with him on his way to kill Lady.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
Why would they change that part? Also why the spoiler tags. It happened in the show we can talk freely about it.
I don't see why you'd remember the butcher boy's death that way as Arya repeatedly holds a grudge against Sandor because of what he did to him throughout the book.
The second ep was fab also. Though I still can't get over Lena Headey's black brows.

Depends when Roid read the book. Its been a long time since I read it and I couldnt recall if the Hound killed him or not until seeing the show.
Very encouraging ratings!

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
Boardwalk Empire's first season was one of the best seasons of a television show I've ever seen. Just wanted to throw that out there since it's catching some heat in this thread from El Murato.
