Hurley is apparently the majority shareholder in the company where Locke works?

What was that white building/object that the numbers were printed on at the end. It was difficult to make out what that area was, was it part of the French woman's camp? The tower she spoke of? The raft? What was it?

So Locke somehow knew it was cute-as-hell-aussie girl's birthday? Interesting.

Good to see Connect Four back on TV, that is one underrated game.

That was a good episode, it raised a few more questions even when there are still some pretty big ones left completely unaddressed, like have Boone and Locke completely forgot about the metal structure? Which I think may have been what the numbers where etched into, but I can't be completely sure about that one.

I was so hoping that shot would have missed the tree and hit Charlie,.His indignation over pouring out his soul only to think that Hurley was lying to him...boo hoo, I'm really broken up inside about that. I hope he can cope.

It's unfortunate that the next new episode is more than a month away...oh well I guess if I wanted to watch them all in one go round I would have waited until the dvd's are released on Sept 6.

The object at the end is the hatch Locke and Boone discovered a few episodes ago.

I liked the implication that Hurley was kinda responsible for the plane crash. Also a refreshing amount of plot and mystery was doled out in this episode. It felt as if we actually learned something this week, as opposed to previous weeks when the show seemed to just plod around mysteries and character arcs by padding them with boring (Charlie), and at times completely unnecessary (Charlie), flashbacks.

Still there's only so many times they can zoom in mysteriously on that bloody hatch. Wrap it up people!

But it makes the moment where they open up the hatch oh so more powerful! Just imagine that scene!

It's easy to imagine for me. I figure it's the hatch on the deck of the French woman's ship and it would simply lead them down into the lower decks where they might find a few odds and ends to salvage, and not much else.

I don't think they will try to get the ship running again though. They are marooned on a tropical island with 3 beautiful women -- and Boone's sister isn't too bad either. What's to escape from? ;)

And I bet while they salvage those things the camera zooms in on someone's face as they remember a time in their lives when salvaging things cost someone their life and/or belongings.

I imagined it happening a while ago. Besides, like Archie said, it'll probably just turn out to be another red herring that does nothing but create more mystery.

Fool me once, shame on me - fool me twice, stop watching the show.

That doesn't make sense. How could a ship be buried underground?

Mudslides, storms, tidal waves, you name it. Makes sense to me, seems the most logical thing it could be, especially since they showed a lot more than the hatch at the end of this last episode. I have it on tape and watched that last part about 4 times, they show a whole structure, the numbers weren't written on the hatch but what looked like a hullside down below the hatch. The French woman has been there for years, hasn't she? It's probably just a section of the ship though, not the whole thing.

Forthcoming Lost episode plot revealed!!:

Hurley: Hey Charlie, what you up to?
Charlie: Nothing… just thinking about how I wish I wasn’t stuck on the beach.
Hurley: Relax, it’s not like you’re addicted to heroin.

*Charlie looks off into the distance, deep in thought*

CUT TO: FLASHBACK - ENGLAND

*Charlie’s sat in a movie theatre next to an attractive young girl. On the screen, Leonardo DiCaprio is topless with a spear.*

Charlie: God this movie sucks. I wish I wasn’t stuck watching The Beach.
Girl: Relax, it’s not like you’re addicted to heroin.

*Charlie digs into and eats from a small bag with ‘heroin’ written on the side*

CUT TO:

*Charlie looks into the distance again.*

Hurley: Dude, you okay?
Charlie: Hmm? Oh, yeah… I was just thinking about the beach...

CUT TO:

*Locke and Boone discover a ‘secret of the island’*

Boone: What is it?
Locke: It is neither it, nor is it what. But it is something, and something is what it is not… we must stare at it for a very long time.
Boone: Okay.

CUT TO:

*Jack and Sayid walk up to Sawyer*

Sayid: Sawyer, we need a spoon.
Sawyer: I don’t care. *smirks*
Jack: It’s a matter of life and death.
Sawyer: I don’t care. *smirks*

*Jack and Sayid throw a strop*

Kate: I’m slowly falling in love with your devil-may-care attitude, Sawyer.
Sawyer: Have a spoon.
Jack: Grrr…
Claire: I’m pregnant!!

CUT TO: FLASHBACK - ENGLAND

*Charlie walks down a random street and happens across Kate*

Charlie: Do you have a spoon?
Kate: Are you going to use it to inject heroin?
Charlie: … No.
Kate: Okay.

*gives Charlie a spoon*

CUT TO:

*Charlie looks into the distance*

Hurley: Dude, you okay?
Charlie: Hmmm? Oh, yeah… I was just thinking about spoons…

*Hurley puts on his headphones and listens to David Gray as everyone walks around in slow-mo while the sun sets. Charlie throws away a spoon.*

END.

Pretty good, Snrub. I may love the show, but you're pretty much spot-on with the... erm... future episode.

I too love the show, Mr. X. I'm just getting a little tired of the formula.

I haven't really thought about it, but it is true. The formula seems to be the same. What I liked about Hurley's episode was how he mentioned no one wanted to at least go see what the "monster" was on the island, so he went along with it. I think it was Hurley's episode I did start taking note to the same old stuff. I think Locke is great, but I was more than relieved that he didn't go with Sayid, Jack and Charlie to find Hurley. He seems to be the center of attention one too many times, lately. I would have been happy with the scenes between Locke and Claire, if I didn't seem that same Locke in every episode so far. I say it's time for another Locke stand-alone (which I believe is coming up pretty soon). Possibly give him some new character traits to work with, outside of his freakish intelligence.

Funny shit.

Hurley made a good point, why aren't they looking for the monster? It's like selective amnesia.

I would either be hunting that fucker down or dead because I was too scared to sleep. How do you sleep with a monster in the jungle? They didn't sleep much in Predator.

It's good the season is ending soon. Looks like they're leaving too many loose ends right now, so a season finale may solve it... or it may just leave MORE questions unanswered.

OK guys here's a little project while we wait for new episodes:

What would be a good cliffhanger episode for the season? A good way to end it that gives us some answers yet leaves us desperate for the new season. Serious or joking, either, as much detail as you want.

Someone listens to Hurley, and they go deep into the island, in search of what that monster thing is. This sets up... surprise! Someone being killed off. But, perhaps an answer to what it is before everyone runs for their life. I think that'd be an adventurous season finale. But, maybe not.

The season finale shall have Claire have her baby. Which of course will be a dinosaur. That's born dead. Yet in the.... fourth episode of the second season, Claire goes to her baby T-Rex's gravesite, to see a large hole. No one dug in... someone dug out. DUN DUN DUN!!!!

I'm gonna go with Mr. X here. I bet that one of the main 14 characters learns some big secret about the island, gasps and shocks, then as they head back to tell the others get the surprise death.

Does anyone else really hope it's Charlie?

If Charlie and Lynette from Desperate Housewives got into some sort of accident that caused them to be removed from the television airwaves at the same time, I would be overjoyed.

But who will it be?.... I'm guessing Hurley (*shock*), Charlie, or Claire.

I like Charlie -- usually, except when he's being icky sweet. The one on Lost who most annoys me is pasty useless Boone.

I would bet money that at some point in season 2, Locke and the french woman get together. They've already made it clear he's painfully lonely in his flashbacks and it's not really viable for him to hook up with any of the regular main women.

The cliffhanger -- I'm guessing Boone dies (not like anyone would miss him) to the monster; Michael, Sawyer and one or two others go out on the raft;the baby gets delivered and Jack gets taken captive. Just a wild guess, probably will look foolish 8 weeks from now in hindsight. :)

I usually dont mind Charlie in any of the episodes, but this one he was kind of annoying. He just seemed to be there only as a tool to connect to Hurley's flashbacks. Just seemed really forced, him yelling stuff like "Lunatic!" "Crazy!!!" etc...

Personally, I hope they kill Jack. He's not that bad a character, but he's a bit too much of a straight shooter for me and besides, they were originally going to kill him off in the first episode but changed at the last minute. It'd seriously shake things up, and get rid of the love triangle thing.
