 Guess Who - Total Predictions
Guess Who
Release Date: March 25, 2005
Studio: Columbia Pictures
Director: Kevin Rodney Sullivan
Screenwriter: David Ronn, Jay Scherick, Peter Tolan
Starring: Bernie Mac, Ashton Kutcher
Genre: Comedy
MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for sex-related humor)
Official Website: SonyPictures.com
Plot Summary: Percy Jones (Bernie Mac) is taking no chances with his daughter Theresa's (Zoe Saldana) future. Even before he meets Simon Green, her latest boyfriend, Percy has him checked out. On paper, he passes with flying colors - great job, good investments and a promising future. Not like the other losers she's dated in the past. But there's one thing the credit report didn't tell him. Simon Green (Asthon Kutcher) is white. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Unless, of course, Simon wants to marry his daughter. Which he does.

Yeah right. It'll be lucky to do Just Married #'s Looks like your typical comedy. Dad doesnt like the fiance because he's white, fiance tries to act respectful towards the dad - but he just ends up acting like a goofball, bunch of stupid things happen in the middle, finace finally gains the approval of the dad and everyone lives happily ever after.
Opening - 16mil
Final - 43mil
Could easily do worst.

Can you imagine the racist outcry if this was the other way around?
*shock* he's black!!! *evil looks of disgust from parents*
It's still racism the other way round, and i just don't find it particularly funny. Hopefully this won't do well.

Um, Guess Who is a remake of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner (starring Sidney Poitier in the Ashton Kutcher role). This was in the '60s, too.

LOOOL, the trailer is hilarious!!!
Right now I think it will get about 2,800 theaters and that would lead to about 24m on its opening with a total of 83m...

The original was the other way around " Guess Who's Coming to Dinner " Sidney Poitier played the black guy who had to meet his fiances white parents. Obviously the studios would never allow it to be like that though, it needs to be the black parents meeting the white boy.

I also think it will open to $30+ million, sadly only second place to The Ring's second weekend. They should move it to some other weekend. Say if it moves to the first weekend of May, it will open to #1.

Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Mac combined for a smash hit? Maybe. I'm thinking in the $60-70 million range.

I think it looks generic, and stupid, but that's just my opinion. Ashton Kutcher still remains one of the worst actors in hollywood, next to Orlando Bloom.

The early reviews have been positive. It doesn't matter much for the genre, but it never hurts to be a good movie. Initial reaction is in the $25M range.
