Re: Do you remember Slumdog Millionare?
Movies no one really cares about anymore...
Crash (should have been Brokeback Mountain), Million Dollar Baby (should have been The Aviator), Slumdog Millioare (should have been The Dark Knight).

Meh, I think Slumdog Millionaire was terrific. Way above all other nominees last year.

Re: Do you remember Slumdog Millionare?
Slumdog might have been the best pick among nominees (I haven't seen The Reader and Milk yet, so I don't know), but far from best in 2008.
But I do remember it, if only because I spin the soundtrack every once in a while.

They add 5 BP nominees and still manage to pick the one movie that no one cares about.

I watched a couple of clips from The Reader on the internet.
The Aviator was not very good.

Sounds like you downloaded Kate Winslet's sex scenes.

It just comes down to: The huge entertaining film with lots of explosions and impressive effects should win. Not the small psychological (war) drama.

Re: Do you remember Slumdog Millionare?
Had The Hurt Locker been released in November and handled better by the studio, it could have made well over $60 million.

Re: Do you remember Slumdog Millionare?
Oh my God, STFU already.
I am so tired of this "The movie only made twelve million dollars, no one cares about it or will remember it" bullshit. Box office is interesting, it's important to an extent, and it's very fun to follow, but it's hardly a cosmic end-all-be-all statement on a film's importance. So change the record already, you "Avatanic"-sized nerds/Cameron-slobbering fanboys.
