Im starting to lose my patience especially with this season being billed as the final one were everything will be revealed. We are about a 1/4 through the season and they haven't really explained anything yet just added more questions.

As to last nights epi, I think everyone is a "candidate" for Jacob or Esau .

The cave last week represented Dark and this week we got a Lighthouse

They have explained the Smoke Monster and the numbers.

They haven't explained a thing about the "Smoke Monster" or the "Numbers". All they've done is shown us another rabbit hole to go down.

So the "Smoke Monster" is Esau/Locke what did that really tell us about the it as it pertains to Seasons 1-5? In previous seasons it attacked without being provoked and Killed good and bad people as well as letting good and bad people live.

As to the "Numbers" ok they show up again in a cave and at a light house attached magically to certain cast members as "candidates", but dont really explain why.

yeah the motives behind the smoke monster have not been explained at all. OOOOOOOOOOO evil locke is the smoke monster. got it. what were its motivations behind killing people and letting others live. it still doesnt make sense and I am getting the feeling that we wont get many answers because I dont believe the writers planned out this show until Season 4 started.

I agree that they aren't giving enough answers and the writing is at times very sloppy. Someone here made a long list of questions they wanted answered a few weeks ago. It might be fun to periodically update it and see how many/few they have answered.

On the positive side, I like the way Hurley is being used this season. The stuff with him and Jacob is good. Jack is a bit less pathetic this year, that's good too. And hey it's something other than the Olympics to watch.

The past two episodes have been really good. Granted, it's frustrating that the plot has barely developed, but Locke's and Jack's flash sideways were really well executed. Watching Claire was creepy and entertaining at the same time. Kudos to Emilie de Ravin for pulling off a 180-degree turn. As for her friend, of course it had to be Smocke. Who else? Heh. Maybe another new character.

Otherwise, questions really need to start getting answered. Hinting this and that will only go so far. I mean, aside from Locke being now Smocke, Claire being crazy, and what the numbers may mean, has Lost given any straight answer? Too many "you don't wanna know" or "you'll know when it's time."

Post Re: The "Lost" Thread: Season 6
Meh episode. But I was thoroughly entertained, because the writers are taking a piss with the script.

Hurley: This is cool dude. Very old school.
Jack: What?
Hurley: You know... You and me, tracking through he jungle... On a way to do something that we don't quite understand. Good times.

That had me laughing quite hard, thinking no one will ever understand even after the sow ends!

Also the scene with Jack and Hurley in the lighthouse was a great embodiment of how even the characters got frustrated like viewers from not knowing a single thing.

I didn't think this show could be any more vague. But it manages to surprise me everytime. And finally I'm not the only one thinking that NOTHING got explained yet. So the Smoke Monster is now Locke. So what? It doesn't explain a shit. So the numbers are assigned to certain people. So??? Considering that the numbers still don't tell a shit that's something that could've been introduced in the season one finale, while the numbers were still very much a hot topic.

And the addition of the lighthouse was a bit crappy. Really? A lighthouse with a magic mirror? But I guess it's better than the donkey wheel that "moves" the island.

Unlike you, however, I am still certain that things will be explained.

Whether I'll like the explanation or not is a different matter. You seem to be dead-set on the show never delivering on its promise, though.

I feel like the next episode could be Sayid's last.

Also, with all of this "candidate" talk, it will be the most unsurprising thing ever with a 90% likeliness that it will end up being Jack...

You guys want to take guesses at who the "they" are Jacob keeps referring to? At the end of season 5 he said "they are coming." And in the last episode he told Hurley "they" will find a way to get to the island.

Penny and Des? Widmore and his people? Or maybe the Alt-Losties are the "they?"

I would be surprised if he was making such a big deal over Penny and Desmond. I don't see why'd they ever return considering the island separated the two of them for so long. Good connection to Jacob's line from the finale, A.G. I think we had all assumed it was Jack and company.

It's because before this season started I've read numerous reports and cast interviews pointing that they will start delivering answers very early on. Five episodes in and have we had a single normal completely conclusive answer yet? No. I'd love if everything made sense in the end. If only for the sake of the first and third season. But I'm doubtful. :notme:

Well if Desmond comes I don't see Penny coming with him. My guess he will come with Widmore and Eloise at some point.

An interesting read: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/rant.aspx ... 00227_lost

This has my suspicion about giving an all-around conclusive answer to everything on the rise again:
Quote:
Carlton reaffirms he and Damon won't be giving any sort of debriefing after the finale. "We're going to let everybody have a chance to digest it and we're not gonna say, 'This is what it's all about.'"

So they're only gonna hint us what it's all about. Six years of almost religious watching and hinting is how they pay off the fans?

Post Re: The "Lost" Thread: Season 6
Here's a theory I read at IGN. Out of all the ones I've ready, this one probably makes the most sense.

Warning: It doesn't necessarily contain spoilers, but it contain theories that could spoil the rest of the series.
Spoiler: show
Quote:
What I think IGN's overlooked, is I think, from a theory I read somewhere else online. Once you think about it, it's hard to refute, but who knows, anyway here's the gist of it:

Desmond is key. He seemed to have a sense of awareness that the others on 815X did not have. Desmond is also likely to be the one Jacob is bringing to the island. Desmond was also told by Eloise that "the island is not done with [him]." Desmond was also off island when Jughead exploded. Desmond has extensively undergone time travel.

Back in Season 3 we saw what happened to Desmond when the hatch was destroyed. He flashed back in time and tried to stop himself from coming to the island. He met Eloise. She told him there was nothing he could do. "The Universe has a way of self-correcting itself." Desmond ended up back on the island.

My Suggestion:
We're not seeing a flash forward, or heaven (that would undermine the series' climax, and I really hope that's not what the writers have done). Rather we're seeing flashbacks to an altered past. The characters are undergoing the same phenomenon that happened to Desmond after the implosion of the hatch, which is the same thing that was destroyed in the season 5 finale. As Eloise was to Desmond, he will be to the main characters. We will see the survivors end up on the island as they were destined to. The Universe self-corrects.

Sure there are holes. Some of them gaping. But I think this may tie in to several things: the flashing light that wooshed Jack, Kate, Hurley, & Sayid away while on Ajira316, Kate not recognizing one of her Templie captors, Eloise for once "not knowing what will happen," because that all coincides for the stage that will be set mid-season.

We will see the Lock and Jack conflict come head to head as promised. Jack will assume the part of Jacob. The two timelines will converge as promised, and we will see things play out on the island with no one knowing the outcome. As Eloise said "for once [she doesn't know what's going to happen]." <--This I think, coincides with the "War" Widmore's been talking about as has Ben. What's meant to happen is for Jacob and Smokie to duke it out, and they will as Jack and Locke respectively.

As with everything Lost, I have my doubts this is how things will play out, but I really like the ideas presented there.

Post Re: The "Lost" Thread: Season 6
Kristen from E Online always has great insider info. She seems to know what the island is. Here's what she posted:

http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_w ... sland.html

Spoiler: show
What Is the Island? That very huge question will be answered in less time than you think--somewhere around halfway through the season, according to sources. Awesome, right? And you know who's going to help deliver the message? The fantastic, ever-youthful guyliner model Mr. Richard Alpert (Nestor Carbonell) and his longtime friend Jacob (Mark Pellegrino). It's gonna be good.

So…What Is the Island? It's described as a four-letter word. There's your first clue! Shall we play Hangman? There are no A's or E's in the word...Wanna buy another vowel? OK, but you only get one.

Another thing I can tell you: The Island has to exist, according to my sources, and more important, someone has to protect it. It's important to the world outside.

Sound interesting, though I won't spoil myself anything anymore... I don't usually do that and actually hate it, but after the fact that the third of the season already aired and still most of the episodes reveal nothing I was mightily irritated and needed something to soothe my mind.

Great episode! Though I don't like that Sayid is fully bad now.

Kate has no idea what she's walking into. Not only is she hanging out with Claire, now she's hanging out with bad Sayid and bad Locke.

But the look that bad Locke gave Kate made me think he was very worried to see her. Perhaps she still has some type of power over him.

Hmm, this Lost promotional picture is taking on new meaning:

Image

If the picture doesn't work, go here:

http://www.heyuguys.co.uk/images/2010/0 ... 00x600.jpg

Also, I read one spoiler that sounds a bit intriguing:

Spoiler: show
DarkUFO (Spoiler source): The Man in Black has a true nemesis, and it is not Jacob.

Good Locke's nemesis was Jack. Could bad Locke's true nemesis really be Jack, not Jacob? That would tie in to the entire series...

Well its depicting a Lost version perhaps of The Last Supper.

Look at who's surrounding Locke in the center at the table. The two on his left are Sayid and Kate. The two on his right are Jin and Claire. We haven't seen Jin turn bad yet aside from his past, but considering he was a major part of Sayid's alternate storyline, he could certainly end up there.

Maybe I'm reading more into it, but I don't think its a coincidence that those four are surrounding Locke at the table. Sawyer may join that group but will likely have second thoughts, though I doubt Jack will by the end...

Bad Locke and perhaps 12 followers and 1 candidate (Jack?).

Holy crap that episode was spectacular.

The Others have returned in the form of MIB's minions. The use of Claire's little girl singsongy "Catch a Falling Star" in the background as all of them march on...totally chilling. On that note, Sayid's descent into the dark side breaks my heart. He's always been a tragic character but he sold his soul to the devil, and I don't know if he can go back.

I feel like MIB's plan involves infiltrating the parallel timeline somehow. How...I don't know, of course.

So is Kate gonna attempt to escape their little band somehow or is she gonna get sucked in or what? I'm really interested to see what happens between her and Claire now.

I actually totally expected Miles to bite the big one this episode so I'm glad he managed to find Ben, Sun, Lapidus and Ilana. Speaking of Ben, the look he gave Sayid as he slowly backed out of the temple was perfection.

Loved seeing Keamy pop up again! And get his comeuppance once again.

Glad to see most of the characters now in two groups, instead of everyone being everywhere. I was sure Miles was gone too, which would've made me so mad.

Seeing Keamy again was awesome, lol that was his perfect job in the alternate reality.

For those of you who enjoy a well written recap, I recommend this blog:

http://neverseenlost.wordpress.com/

As to this last episode, I'm not sure what is going on with Kate at the end. My best guess for now is that she's not necessarily with the Lockeians but is hanging around for now because she doesn't know what else to do. I'm also not sure Sawyer is with Locke. It seems unlikely they'd make him a bad guy.

For now I'm just hoping Miles, Hurley and Sun live. Although I half expect Miles to bite the dust at some point.

What is it you guys think that Jacob wants Jack to do? Other than just in general stop Smokey, I mean more specifically.
