Because the idea's lame? But mostly because there's usually not news regarding movies that are a year or so old.

 Re: Cinemania section looking Good!
Why are you bringing up Lecter? I'm not "supporting" Lecter, 'cause I have no idea what you're talking about with that. This is about your idea to separate Cinemania into two sections: present and future movie discussion. There is no point for that. So when future news becomes present news, you want us to move things to the "present" section? Or even create a whole new topic for the "present" section? Pointless.
Plus, the more sub-forums you create, the worse this forum will get. In my opinion, at least. Keep things grouped together so people actually venture into all sections, rather than just heading for one section and not looking at the other. It's not like having "present" and "future" movie news grouped together in Cinemania is ever that much of a mess that they can't co-exist.

All the General Stuff in there now vs any movie news that is a year or more off!!! Also as I noted, the turnover on the current general movie stuff is less than 3 days old...so people are talking about these topics. and why should 1 person be allowed to post 15 different threads, moving half of everything to the second page. SPAM???

Still wish that all that future movie stuff, or all that Lecter stuff as he is the big one who does that kind of stuff, just be put into a seperate sub area.

 Re: Cinemania section looking Good!
We already have the Oscar and Indie forums which are basically subforums.
Cinemania is fine. The only change I could ever see is a franchise specific subforum that would allow for unique discussion. But SW is over, Potter is nearing the end, there isn't anything on the horizon.
And the userbase isnt large enough to necessitate such changes.

 Re: Cinemania section looking Good!
Fine but can we do something when 1 poster wants to post 10/15 threads in 1 day which pushes more than half the stuff to the next page.
Just look at the front 2 pages of the Movie section, people have plenty they want to talk about. But all that stops when the front page is spammed!

Talk about movies and whatever is relevant in the world of Hollywood, including rumors dealing with movie stars and/or movies. 've never seen 10/15 threads threads posted in 1 day by 1 poster in Cinemania. If you have, please list the information.

 Re: Cinemania section looking Good!
The biggest thread makers in Cinemania are Lecter and Grill. I don't remember Grill ever exceeding five new threads in one day (although bumping five of his own threads is just as bad), and the only time I've noticed Lecter making that many threads in one day is when he's returned from a vaca and felt obligated to make threads for all the big "news."

I'm glad Zingy and loyal are taking it upon themselves to argue with Grill. I don't really want to read through his posts.

Can you cite the incidents where he's posted AT LEAST five threads in one day in Cinemania? You were talking about 10-15, which is a bit ridiculous, but if it has happened, do you know when (within the past month)?

 Re: Cinemania section looking Good!
Also, I see 20 to 25 different people posting threads in the movie section. That is pretty good as lots are throwing in their ideas. But that doesn't happen when 1 poster or even Lecter posts all the things that he wants.
Which is better 20 to 25 different people or 90% Lecter?

LOL MR MOD, how about last 2 months as he has been gone and hasn't posted in like 15 days! PS. That is how I have noticed the difference and know how good it is now.

Well, it's noted. But, bottom line, two sections is silly. That's like making a sub-forum for Lecter and a sub-forum for you. Both of you do your own thing (he posts the news, you post the weekly "watchu think about this week in FILM" threads, and things like that), and you'll just have to co-exist in Cinemania.

There aren't just me and Lecter posting. Right now there are more than 20 people starting threads in there! and isn't it spam when a poster posts so much stuff that half the the front page gets pushed back. (PS Z, you sure didn't investigate when you don't even know that there are so many people starting threads in the Movie Section) So how many threads is allowed when so many other people's threads get pushed back because of 1 person? ************* Added: Forum (mis)conduct. If you are suspicious someone is just being a blatant obnoxious spammer 2. Notify a MOD about the comment, and we will investigate.

Torri and co.: In your rules you state the following: Quote: 2) Double accounts are not allowed; however, if you need a double account for awards/PMs/whatever, talk to a moderator before creating the account. We're flexible. So shouldn't Grill be banned for being a double account of Goldie?

 Re: Cinemania section looking Good!
Grill, I'm not an idiot. I realize that there are more posters than you and Lecter making threads in Cinemania. It's called exaggeration, just like how you exaggerated that Lecter made 15 threads in one day, and that Cinemania is "90% Lecter" - neither of which are true. So you don't need to tell me to investigate.
When Lecter legit spams Cinemania in the future, let us know.
