I'm going with just Sayid, Ben, and Charles.

None of the happy couples (Desmond + Penny, Jin + Sun, Rose + Bernard) will die. Jack, Kate, and Sawyer will continue their love triangle forever. Miles and Hurley will live on as comic relief. And Claire and Walt have hardly been around; their deaths would mean nothing. So that leaves just the three above.

Killing off Sayid seems like such a non-event to me now. He's been pretty useless ever since S4.

Hard to imagine that during the first season he was one of my favorite characters.

I'm going through the second season right now... it's definitely a slight drop from the first season, but I never realized before how awesome "What Kate Did" is... I think it's definitely one of the show's best episodes. I also think it hints at them setting up the Jacob thing that far back, as the black horse which is connected to the island definitely makes Kate crash and escape. Maybe that's the man in black's version of real world Jacob. That and "The 42nd Psalm" are a pretty great 1-2 punch.

One other thing... the Swan orientation video has a 1980 copyright video, and mr. Candle looks older and can't move his arm. So life definitely goes on after the boom.

The question is if that was the timeline after the boom, or the boom caused a split in the timeline creating a new timeline.

I think it's the same timeline because of Candle's arm, plus Sayid says in S2 "The last time I saw cement poured over everything like this was Chernobyl" Think the nuke goes off

Was watching "Dave" yesterday, I wonder if the S5 developments put a new spin on that. As in, maybe the man in black or Jacob wanted Hurley to jump off that cliff, because he plays an important rule in future events? And would that imply he can't touch him or kill him with the smokie, because he's blessed by Jacob or something? I think in the first Jack episode in S1 where he's chasing Christian through the jungle and almost gets led off a cliff, could be from the same reason

Makes sense if they're rebooting things, or at least wanting people to think they will.

Why is Courtney Cox there? What ABC show does she have?

More news about S6:

- Emilie de Ravin will return and not just as a guest star, but as a full-time regular

- What wIll be revealed in the final episode: "Among the mysteries unravelled in the very last episode will be the significance of the four-toed statue, what the Smoke Monster really is and who the skeletons in the cave were."

Didn't we already figure this out? If it's not Rose and Bernard then I'm guessing it's still most probably a couple of the main characters. Sawyer and Kate? Who discovered the skeletons?

Well, we've been guessing it, but it could be anyone. Could be Rose and Bernard, could be Kate and Saywer/Jack, could be Penny and Desmond.

Weren't the skeletons, like, fifty years old? If they're Rose and Bernard, that would require some more time traveling, methinks.

I'm so excited for the final season. I think most expect the bomb to bring everyone back to the present, but I wouldn't be surprised if the writers did something else and really fuck with us.

I think he's talking about the clothes' level of debris when saying that... if Rose and Bernard were wearing old clothes it could work, or at least enough for the producers to cover their tracks

I've decided on what I think will happen in S6... I think everyone near the nuke are going to flash like Desmond... except maybe like, SUPER FLASH, where they don't go back, or the flashes will be coming with them all stuck in the present again. The characters will beb in the flashback stories we've seen and they'll changing their futures and fate and so forth, or trying to with the universe fighting back... this'll fit in with the whole get a second chance, fix things, bit. The designated character episodes would also fit perfectly with this.

I've thought for a while the flashbacks and the pasts are going to be important and tie into the end game somehow... it'd just make too much sense with half the show having been spent on them that it all converges together like that. I think Eloise and Widmore have found a way to control their flashes maybe... that's how she could know everything

I think it's more than that... the conversation with Eloise and Desmond at the ring shop made it sound like she's lived that scene before and knew exactly what was supposed to happen next (Des looking at the ring, changing his mind, and leaving)... then she knew about the guy in red shoes getting killed right outside. I don't think that's all from the notebook, Daniel wouldn't know

More on the issue of Charlie returning or not. I have no idea whether to put them behind a spoiler bar or not. Since no one complained about what Lecter wrote, I'll assume it's okay for now. Personally I like hearing about casting and I think they have a tight wrap on the actual final plot twists.

Both Shannon and Charlie will be back for a few episodes, according to a tweet from someone at a talent agency.

More here

edit: Dark UFO is now saying it's a hoax.

Even if real, it could simply be a flashback to when they were alive.

Wow, I never realized Faraday was in Saving Private Ryan (watching it right now). He's pretty good in it too.

Hopefully it's because they actually need an additional hour rather than just last desperate milking of Lost on ABC's part.

Post Re: The "Lost" Thread: Season 6
Lots of juicy hints:

Quote:
Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof took the stage to a roaring Hall H moments ago, kicking off day 3 of SDCC.

The big news of the panel is that season six seems set to feature an alternate reality, based on three viral commericals.

The first was an ad for Oceanic Air that noted that the company was founded in 1979 (which, based on the '70s timeline from season five, should hit this year).

The next, far more revealing ad, was for "Mr. Cluck's Chicken", owned and operated by Hurley who "dreamed of a recipe for perfect chicken while on a trip to Australia". It would seem that, based on the events of the finale, we're now in an alternate reality.

The last video was a clip from an episode of "America's Most Wanted" focused on Kate Austen who, though she tried to kill her stepfather, killed a plumber named Ryan Milner by mistake.

After the video, Jorge Garcia made a surprise appearance, posing a fan asking a question. He demanded Damon and Lindelof explain what's going on, saying that, if everything is different in season six, does that mean the first five seasons have been a cheat? The pair said, "Jorge, you're just going to have to trust us."

"The last time I trusted you guys," he shot back, "you said that Nikki and Paulo were going to be awesome."

When Garcia tried to ask further questions, he was stopped by another surprise guest, Michael Emerson, who started an argument which, Garcia claimed, he was only doing because Emerson originally wanted the Hurley part. Then they screened a fake video featuring Emerson's original audition for the Hurley part.

Other tidbits included the revelation that both Jeremy Davies and Elizabeth Mitchell will be back for season six. The point was also made that the final season will be its own entity.

"The time travel season is over," said Cuse, "Flashforward season is over. You're going to see something different."

Other surprise guests included Nestor Carbonell and Josh Holloway, the latter of whom burst onto stage to steal the final scene of "Lost," allegedly locked in a box on-stage by Cuse and Lindelof but stole it only to reveal the gag that it was actually the final scene for "Heroes".

The panel ended with Dominic Monaghan taking the stage, but not joining the panel. It looks like Charlie is back!
