Re: Too many Star Trek + Poll threads
Really? Your unhappy with me bumping my existing thread from 2005, rather than starting a new poll to clutter up the forums? With the old thread search broken, it took me 20 minutes to manually comb through Cinemania to dig up my old thread for what I imagined was a service to the KJ community. I think most KJers would be hard pressed to remember my infrequent polls, let alone be overwhelmed by them - - perhaps the most known one would be my thread/poll: Your Pixar Rankings!!!, which like my Rank the Star Trek Movies thread, I only bump upon a new entry in the series... And now you're calling the Admins down on me?!? Well I'm putting you on notice Dr. Lecter! Let's hope we don't see any extraneous threads from you anytime soon...

Re: Too many Star Trek + Poll threads
Some of those polls are fine. I'll use the same excuse that me and Nebs used last summer stating that its summer time so expect to see alot of fanbase related threads. We had to go through alot of TDK, Kong and SWs threads in the past so it shouldnt be any exception. Maybe if the threads are too similiar or doesnt add the discussion other than spam, I would consider it

Actually, Brad, I didn't notice it was your thread and that it was created way before the other ones, sorry.

Re: Too many Star Trek + Poll threads
Actually I don't think is a problem as Star Trek is the BIG MOVIE OF THE WEEK. and also I just checked there are only 2 open Star Trek threads on the front page but there are 20 out of 30 threads, that were either started or bumped up by 1 person. Some of which were 3/4 months ago. Does he have a Star Trek grudge??? so C'mon mods/Admins can't we do something to keep active movie topics on the front page and not buried if a poster doesn't like that movie. Maybe we should sticky some current movie threads to stop this from happening??? > Yup that would be a GOLDEN idea!

It is hardly possible for me to put anything across to DP07, who is mentally intact to some extent. Thus, it seems impossible in your case.

At least Grill keeps his ungrammatical and non-punctuated gibberish succinct. http://boxofficemojo.com/forums/viewtopic.htm?t=76520&sid=442cb8036769c30fbde9520a4bd9bc6dand http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=50910Grill and Movie-Man (I do not know why he uses a hyphen), is this the same person?

Re: Too many Star Trek + Poll threads
Not really sure as I don't care about BOM but he might be someone who is copying my threads. Not that I care as I like good questions to be asked everywhere. Anyway, thanks for pointing out how that one got 35 poll votes and comments. So the thread seems to be working out in both places as here at KJ, it got 30 poll votes and comments. Good Job, Caius.

Re: Too many Star Trek + Poll threads
Wow, Caius, I thought most KJ'ers from Oct 2004 have said they would never return to BOM, as it is a waste land, but I guess you like to read and/or post in the BOM Forums. Interesting?

Re: Too many Star Trek + Poll threads
I have 3 post there since the exile. Unlike those at the time, I had no problem with what Sean Salsbury was doing, it was just that all the good posters went here, so that site became dead. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/forums/search.htm?search_author=KidRock69xThat link shows my posts at that site.

Its closed for that reason. Case closed. Why would you ask that question anyhow when theres so many other threads you can answer that question? 2009 movies in review for one example and the Star Trek thread in the critics forum***I see you just changed your reply > anyway, why can't this be a standalone question! ********************* For some reason the ADM doesn't see that this is a totally different question. Batman Begins is the first movie in the franchase. The Dark Knight was the second movie of the Batman series - and everyone saw it as the movie of the year > no one saw Batman Begins as the movie of the year. ****************************** 1 thread is a specific question that asks how Star Trek compares with Batman as a re-start to each franchise. The other is a totally different question that asks in 2009, is Star Trek the movie of the year * Star Trek, Is it the 2009 Movie of the Year like TDK in 2008 > Today alone, 8 people answered in thread and poll. And 2 people brought up great questions that I would like to reply to. * Better re-start: Batman Begins (2005) or Star Trek (2009) > About 30 people answered this in the thread and the poll

Re: Too many Star Trek + Poll threads
As I stated above, your question doesnt deserve another thread since it can be answered in so many other existing threads. Why do we even have a critics forum, if you meant to take away space from those. Im still sticking with my answer that you have tried to compare it again to Batman Begins wheter you restated your question again or not. Now just end this discussion right now because I still see you are unwilling to change your behavior or habit of creating so many polls. Im beginning to rethink the process of limiting your thread creation again since it was reinstated back to you recently. You have so far abused it and being too stubborn to accept any criticism about it

Since there doesn't seem to be lots of interest in so many of his threads but they remain open, can someone look at this!

Hmm... Fighting with Lecter? Spamming the board with polls? Using stupid little symbols in every post?
This is all too familiar!

Because the threads that Lecter created were about movie news. Joe use to create alot of those threads but since he doesnt post here anymore, Lecter has to provide them. As much as Joe was disliked he never got any complaints for posting movie news. I have given you advice that you have to find a way to consolidate threads that are so similiar to one another yet you have refused to.

As someone just pointed out - Restart should include others including Casino Royale - it seems to be a good standalone question. and my second question - is Star Trek the movie of the Year - can't go into another thread - as I am asking others, is there any other 2009 movie that will compare to it - so it is a seperate stand-alone question.

You can always include CR in that same thread Quote: and my second question - is Star Trek the movie of the Year - can't go into another thread - as I am asking others, is there any other 2009 movie that wiull compare to it - so it is a seperate stand-alone question. Its not even the end of the year and those can easily go into the 2009 movies in review.
