Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
I'm glad it was non-elimination and Christie/Jodi were spared. I like them a lot, although I worry about their inconsistency. They seem to either do really well or totally suck.
I am still sad they did the "running in your underwear in freezing cold Russia" Roadblock a week after Amanda/Kris were eliminated. Too bad. It was still a fun task. They even showed Phil in his underwear! Heh my life is complete.
Oooh, India next week! Always the most fun as Killer Fatigue rears its ugly head.

OK episode. Non elimination legs tend to be a bit subpar in terms of detours/roadblocks compared to the rest.

If we're lucky, Kris, like Dallas/Texas/whatever his name was, has a newd photo somewhere out there.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
Aw. I was not happy to see Christie/Jodi just barely getting beat to the mat by the stuntmen despite being in last place the entire leg and having to do the speed bump. They were very nice women and good teammates to each other. I wish they could've lasted a little longer, but considering this show's sketchy track record with female/female teams, seventh place is relatively impressive.
I love the India legs. They really portray the chaos and frantic nature of the race at its best.
In terms of how I'd rank the remaining teams (personal prefrence, I mean): 1. Mel/Mike 2. Margie/Luke 3. Kisha/Jen 4. Tammy/Victor 5. Jaime/Cara 6. Mark/Michael
The stuntmen annoy me for some reason. Everyone else, I don't have huge problems with. Jaime/Cara get flustered way too easily, and Victor is still a bit energetic for my taste, though. I would really love it if an all-female team could FINALLY win this race (Dustin and Kandice came the closest with second place), but I would prefer Kisha/Jen of the two left.
I hope Margie is OK next week! Her fainting from dehydration looks scary.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
Mel and Mike They were so awesome, why couldn't the 60-minute penalty have actually ousted the annoying stuntmen? Blah. Margie's dehydration almost-faint at the pit stop was really scary, to put it mildly. I was also kind of icked out by the fact they cut to a commercial after she passed out, as if they wanted to us wonder whether she DIED or something. It was creepy. I have finally learned how to tell Jaime and Cara apart, mostly because Jaime is the shrew and Cara is actually patient and nice. Jaime is totally giving off KKKendra vibes at this point, although she still has a long way to go to bed as awful as she was. I would say this race is anyone's game at this point, actually. Tammy and Victor seem like the most likely winners, but not necessarily. Actually, on second thought, I doubt Mark and Michael will win, because they're too concerned with showing off their "physical prowess" (lol) and tamper with the race like total douchebags to actually be intelligent and think things through.

Meh. This season isn't really interesting... I don't care for any of the teams. Though I have to say that despite featuring the lamest tasks in this season this leg proved to be very hard.

This leg actually had clues, well a clue, with the gorilla. That I liked, the teams - not so much. Hooray for....Tammy and Victor I suppose.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
Wow. Were the idiotic stuntmen brothers not paying attention when they were explaining the rules before the race started or something? What morons. I was so disappointed it was non-elimination, since I've never seen a team more worthy of getting booted. Even Dan and Andrew didn't keep stacking up penalties like it was their job last season. You can also tell Phil hates them, because Phil is awesome. At least they're already 3 hours behind the others next leg.
I like Kisha and Jen, but good lord, they make so many mistakes.
I officially cringe every time I watch Jaime now. Her behavior towards the locals has really become nauseating.
Margie kicks all kinds of ass. Yes, Luke is deaf and all, but he really doesn't seem like he does much to help. Margie carries them in a spectacular fashion, and I'd love to see them win just because she rocks.
Tammy and Victor are still kind of just there, being competent but not really stirring me one way or the other. At least Victor hasn't been anywhere near the annoyance levels he was at in the Romania leg. And I suppose I must give them credit for being very level-headed and cheerful, especially Tammy. I'm kind of getting the feeling they're going to win, and I could think of many, many worse teams who have done so, so I wouldn't be displeased.
Next week's Jen/Luke BITCHHHHH confrontation looks intense and kind of awesome. I just hope it doesn't make me like either team less.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
I'm kinda bummed. There's an open casting call on Saturday for the next season but because filming starts this summer, there's no way I can join the cast.
I definitely want to get on the show before it loses its value but the summer filming schedule is killing that chance.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
I don't think Kisha and Jen made themselves look particularly great with the "battle" tonight, but Margie and Luke came off far worse. I'm pretty sure the first collision legitimately was an accident, but the second time was Luke being far too aggressive. And then Luke whining all episode got on my nerves, AND THEN Margie shrieking at Kisha/Jen at the pit stop about laughing at Luke and then bringing up their race really bothered me. Margie has kicked ass and been awesome this entire race, so that self-righteous harping was really disappointing. Like, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she's just really worn out from the race, but come on.
In other news, I felt terrible for Tammy and Victor to have to be trapped in the middle of that confrontation at the pit stop. That must've been hugely awkward.
Mark and Michael finally (finally!) getting Philliminated was maybe the least surprising elimination ever, since it was clear they were way way way behind the entire leg. I won't miss them.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
Victor and Tammy trapped between the two teams during World War Betch was humorous. They looked uncomfortable the entire time. And yeah, Margie and Luke really came off way worse than Kisha and Jen did. I actually really, really dislike Luke. He's a spoiled brat from years of being cuddled by his mother. I hope they don't win. I want either a Victor and Tammy win or a Kisha and Jen win. Betchface and Cara wouldn't be awful, but Betchface is just so UGH.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
The foot massage from hell Roadblock was horrifying.
Jen's near-meltdown at the detour was heartbreaking. I know people who have crippling phobias and it really is no laughing matter. Kisha impressed the hell out of me for being so caring and understanding for her sister, and I was glad the two of them were able to complete the task.
Along the same lines, Margie and Luke continue to fall out of favor with me at an alarming rate. So, supposedly "laughing" at a deaf person (which they weren't even doing last week) is a crime against humanity, but mocking Jen for being afraid to swim is acceptable? How refreshingly hypocritical and ugly.
Tammy and Victor had a relatively good leg. I'm still not crazy about them (they're a tad on the dull side sometimes), but they treat each other with a lot of respect, which is appreciated.
The sadist in me laughed when Jaime and Cara were so excited about their first place finish only to be told the leg wasn't over yet. Whoops. I guess that's karma for Jaime being such a douchebag to almost every foreigner she's encountered. To be fair, she was nicer this leg.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
I don't think Jen and Kisha came off incredibly well this episode, what with their suggestions that the Chinese attendants at the airport should learn to say 'me no speakee english' and that they all had dumb looks on their faces. They aren't Jamie and Cara (thank god) but I think they are closer to Margie and Luke (who have fallen so far out of favour in the past two episodes...) than to Tammy and Victor.
Speaking of T&V, they worried me with their synchronized diving decision. Granted Tammy isn't the most comfortable in the water, but doing anything in unison is difficult let alone diving off a 3m platform. I'm glad that there will most likely be a bunching at the beginning of the next leg and that this one will be rendered meaningless (not a spoiler, just assuming based on TAR)

But I was still firmly in their corner this episode because of the whole swimming debacle.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
Wait. Let me get this straight. Did Kisha and Jen seriously miss out on making the final leg because Jen stopped to pee?! Are you kidding me? Instead, Ugly American Jaime gets to be in the finale? What? What? Ew, ew, ew.
What the hell. That is very irritating. I was rooting for Kisha and Jen. And while I like Cara, Jaime is awful enough that I was praying for their Phillimination.
Since I can no longer stand Margie/Luke and Jaime is horrible, I don't want to see anyone other than Tammy and Victor win next week. Disappointing.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
That fucking sucks. Kisha and Jen were the only team I wanted to win. Tammy and Victor are just boring, Margie and Luke are HORRIBLE and Cara is stuck with Jaime. Kisha and Jen were the only team I wanted to see win. Ah well.
I actually wouldn't mind Jaime and Cara winning now, only because I hate Margie and Luke and find Tammy and Victor boring.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
Aw. I'll take a win from Tammy/Victor. They obviously learned a lot from the horror of their Romania leg and they were always very supportive and encouraging to each other. Plus, they were also very competent racers.
This was the second season in a row where a brother and sister won the race, although I think Tammy and Victor are more likable than Nick and Starr were.
As much as Jaime pissed me the hell off this whole season, I actually did like Cara a lot. Their second place finish is pretty commendable. They now tie with the BQs (Dustin and Kandice) to be the furthest an all-female team has gone in the race.
I loved Margie and Luke a few weeks ago but their behavior ever since Bitchgate has bothered me enormously so I was kind of happy they didn't win. That said, I still teared up a bit at their interview at the end mat. I'm not made of stone!
Overall, this season started off awesomely but kind of petered out a bit as it went on. Regardless, it was still a decent season overall and I have no complaints with Tammy and Victor as the winners.

Fail. Just a few glimpses of the other attractive Kris in a 2009 reality program. lol
But despite being the Sinister (and Gay?) Deaf Kid, what Luke told his mom was sweet.

But despite being the Sinister (and Gay?) Deaf Kid, what Luke told his mom was sweet. I actually kind of forgot about TAR Kris. He and Amanda got booted way too early considering what good eye candy he was. At least American Idol Kris has made it to the top 3 and not only fulfilled the eye candy quotient to a staggering degree but also been a "kick awesome" singer and person too.

Kinda non eventful last leg. Even though the teams were very close the excitement was never there. I'm glad T&V won. They deserved it.

Re: 'The Amazing Race 14' Thread
Final legs are usually disappointing, especially of the one hour variety. I think by now every team going into the final leg should have one member able to recall the locations, activities and race obstacles.
I am glad that Tammy and Victor won as they were my favourites managing to get over Victor's emotional outburst in Romania. I was disappointed when Phil was recapping their journey. 3 continents. 9 countries. That's what passes as an Amazing Race these days?
