I was referring to Boogeyman, which I expect to drop 55-60% next weekend.

The weekend actuals are up!!

1. Boogeyman - $19,020,655 NEW
2. The Wedding Date - $11,129,580 NEW
3. Are We There Yet? - $10,614,455 -35.1%
4. Hide and Seek - $8,906,932 -59.4%
5. Million Dollar Baby - $8,708,118 -29.0%
6. The Aviator - $5,427,739 -28.1%
7. Meet the Fockers - $4,807,635 -40.1%
8. Sideways - $4,657,390 -26.6%
9. Racing Stripes - $4,282,291 -34.5%
10. Coach Carter - $4,233,812 -47.2%
11. In Good Company - $3,341,960 -46.5%
12. Phantom of the Opera - $2,609,040 -35.3%

I'm really surprised Million Dollar Baby hasn't been #1 yet and coming in at #5 makes me think that while this movie is really good to the critics and whatnot, the general audience doesn't really seem to care that much regardless if it's an Oscar Contender.. :-k

I've heard nothing but good WOM for Million Dollar Baby though. Of course a lot of it comes from me.

MDB dropped 30% less then Hide & Seek, I told you it would drop good, that results from good wom. Dont know how you can say nobody cares about the movie, it already made 35mil you dope, if it was at 10mil or something I would agree with you - but its not. When all is said and done the movie will hit 70-100 mil It'll perform much like Mystic River.

Now how am I a dope for wondering why such a great movie like Million Dollar Baby is at #5 and not #1 since the critics have raved about this and most Oscar movies that go into Wide Release end up at #1 if there that good based on past Oscar Nominated movies??? :-k I'd say based off this, not everybody is embracing it that much..

Its not a mainstream movie obviously and relies heavily on wom and other things of that matter. You're just making me repeat what i've already told you. All these movies like Boogeyman getting #1 for 1 weekend wont gross more then MDB in the long run, they will be gone in the next weeks, MDB stays because of the great wom, while those movies fall. Just because it isnt #1 doesnt mean people dont like it, thats the stupidest thing i've ever heard. Based on other Oscar Nominated movies MDB should be #1? Thats really really stupid. You wanna compare it to ROTK or something? Compare it to Msytic River.

FYI Only best picture nominee last year to hit #1 was ROTK

Seabiscuit
Master & Commander
Lost in Translation
Mystic River

None of those movies hit #1

Final gross of Seabiscuit: $120M
Final gross of Master and Commander: $93M
Final gross of Mystic River: $90M

Without ever hitting #1! Shocking! Heh.
