Post Re: 'The Amazing Race 13' Thread
While Russia (Moscow) was surprisingly uneventful it was an interesting leg thanks to cab drivers.

Toni and Dallas were best in this leg and they totally deserved the first place. Ken and Tina deserved their second place too - I was surprised by how well Ken held at that flour detour, I thought Dallas would be tougher.

And Nick and Starr - oh Starr what's wrong with you? I actually liked Nick this leg, but Starr was awful.

And damn this non elimination round. I soooo wanted Dan and Andrew to get eliminated. They're not geeks, they're mentally challenged, both of them. What the hell was up with Dan's march - that's physically impossible to do for a normal person. No matter how big mistakes they make they still manage to be in the race.

I think they even have shot at getting in the final three. I doubt we're that lucky and they were the ones who lost their passports and all of their money. I guess that's the mistake we were told about that prevented one team from finishing the leg of the race.

I'm sooooo hoping Toni and Dallas aren't the ones that happens to.

I hope it's Nick & Starr. I just cannot stand them in the least bit. They're smug and annoying. I like smugness, but not to the degree that Nick and Starr have. I luved seeing their taxi troubles in yesterday's ep.

I luved the sassy Russian lady too.

Awful, awful, awful. Seeing that happen to Toni and Dallas was heartbreaking. They are lovely people and I enjoyed watching them this season. Damn. I loved how class act Toni didn't even seem angry with Dallas for his colossal mistake of leaving the money/passports behind when I probably would've gotten enraged in that situation. Even Phil looked like he was about to cry when they got eliminated.

It's made even more awful when one realizes Dan and Andrew made it to the final leg over these two. The possibility of them winning is incredibly frightening. They'd be, like, the worst winners in the history of anything, not just reality shows.

I guess I'm rooting for Ken and Tina? But between them and Nick/Starr, I really don't care now that my favorite team is out. Just not the frat boys. I would've rather seen Charla and Mirna win the whole thing in one of their seasons than them.

Someone at another site described Dan and Andrew as "Mr Magooing" their way through the race. What are the odds that another team would lose all their money and passports? What's really scary is that Dan and Andrew came in second despite going 40 min in the wrong direction and having the speed bump.

The speed bump was awful. If the judge was any good they would've repeated that dance like a hundred times. They fooled around.

Whoever wins, I just hope it's not Dandrew. This season wasn't really good. Last season was much better. The legs of the race are boring and unimaginative.

Considering I really didn't care whether it was Nick/Starr or Ken/Tina that won, that finale was pretty exciting and almost even more frantic than usual for a finale.

Nick and Starr deserved to win the race, at least in terms of sheer performance and ability. They were a little too smug sometimes but they seem pretty cool in general, so I'm fine with their win.

Ken and Tina looked like they were barely behind. Considering how much I expected to find them annoying when the season started, they definitely grew on me.

I'm so glad Dandrew got the irrelevant third place edit. I cannot believe they actually made it to the last leg, ick.

Toni and Dallas were so not at the race to the mat! :( Their passports must not have come through in time. Booooooo.

Overall, an OK season (not one of the best ever, though not one of the worst) but at least I didn't dislike the winners.

It was an exciting finale, though that memory task seemed like one where a team could just leech off the efforts of another. Unless there were separate clue boxes for each team. I'm not sure I like the taxi dependency on the last leg, I may just prefer walking on foot to everything.

I'm happy for Nick and Starr, they were quite dominant throughout the race and deserved to win. They really made no grave errors and were always quite efficient with tasks.

I wasn't a huge fan of the route this season took, I wasn't a fan of multiple legs in the same country, and hope that changes in the next season beginning Feb 15.

Like Libs mentioned an OK season. Not S2, S1 or S5 in terms of my enjoyment of the race. But not the lows of S8, S10 either.

Would it have killed the producers to have a minute of footage showing them arrive back in the States safely? Especially since they weren't at the finish line ceremony.

Your assessment is is pretty accurate IMHO, not a great season but not bad. I didn't really dislike anyone, but I couldn't have handled a Dandrew win (if you added up all the legs, they were almost a day behind Nick and Starr's avg. start times).

Everyone grew on me, and I was a bit disappointed when every team left, because even the ones with some obvious faults like the divorcees and Terrence weren't that bad.

Meh season. I didn't like Nick/Starr at the beginning. I kinda hated them. But for these past few weeks I was secretly rooting for them. And I'm glad they won.

I didn't like the route of this season too. But with recession and economic trouble, maybe multiple legs in one country are the future of this show?
