I cannot drive and they're forcing me to live at home instead of on campus (money issues). If it was up to me, I'd drop out until I could afford to live on campus.

Drop out, run away, get a job, then later re-establish your family relationship from a safe distance and a position of independence.

Already have a job (Pharmacy technician). And what about school?

Is that more important right now than your personal safety?

Joe,

You do a great job writing for the main site. I've said it once, and I'll loudly say it another hundred times. You really do help us out a lot, and I can't thank you enough for it.

The fact that this forum's admins and owners will not intervene in your real life has nothing to do with the work you do for the main site, nor does it have anything to do with how much we may or may not like you. As I said above, you have helped this site out a lot, but I don't feel comfortable intervening in your life.

Leaving the legal nightmare out of this, I simply don't know you on a personal level, and I don't interact with you on a personal level. Our interaction is based solely around this site, and our relationship begins and ends at that point. The internet is just that, the internet. If you want advice on your situation, start a thread, those interested in participating can do so. If you want help, go get help. You control your environment more than you seem willing to accept.

Box and others would just attack me on a personal level and they'd get away with it because I would not trust the mods to do their job properly until I get assurance from them that they would monitor things closely before going ahead with the thread.

I'd be happy to get in contact with you via phone if you want. It would be nice to know who I'm writing for beyond just PMs and emails.

OMG - - Thank God I'm not Eagle (or a KJ mod)!

Personally attacked again...

This is what I mean of how you classify as personal attack. The reply from Bradley might be considered being a smart ass or baiting at times but you have a tendency to think everything as a personal attack

Joe, I'd strongly suggest talking these issues over with someone you know in real life. Maybe a co-worker or someone you go to school with? If your situation is as serious as you're presenting it to be, you can't rely on members at an internet forum for help.

Not an attack - - I just dread this situation of someone overstepping all kinds of boundaries. I can only imagine what a horror story this little episode is for Eagle and the mods...

What boundaries? And I doubt the mods are getting worked up over this. In order to do that they'd have to care.

I sincerely doubt this. It is worth it to yourself to at least try. This place isn't intended to be a substitute for therapy or moral support.

Not to chime in your personal life because its none of my business at all but from what Bradley said, its not as though your hands are tied and you cant make up any excuses why you cant leave when you are perfectly capable of buying yourself a cheap car because you obviously have some money. At least if you get out on your own, it will toughen you up a bit

Don't know. Never used it. There isn't a bus stop near me, I know that because I would have seen it.

check your state and labor laws to see if rooming and sheltering is provided for people who work 40hrs or more each week

Revealing edit.

Focused on the one aspect of helplessness, and deleted the part about taking personal responsibility...

I closed it because you have no case at all. You claim that you are attacked for no reason but frankly whenever I see your report, I wouldnt say 100% of the time but more like 85% of the time you started shit because someone doesnt agree with you. If you want me to be specific, I can either make it public or if you dont feel the stuff should be disclosed here I could send a PM

Did you not read "What I view as an attack is different than what you view as one" from the other thread?

Joe, let me answer your comments as simply as i can.

Quote:
What you view as an attack is different than what the mods/admins view as an attack.

Thats all well and good but decisions on this forum on what is viewed as an attack and how they are handled are made by the mods and the admins. No one else. Not you, not Tony, not Dolcevita, not even EAGLE, Loyal and me. No one. Just the team that is part of the admin/mods. So what you view as an attack, what I view as an attack and what Jim Halpert views as an attack means nothing other than bringing it to the attention of the team. If they don't see it as such, they don't see it as such and thats that.

b) Caring about personal problems. Let me direct you back to a KJ rule here.

Quote:
13: Revealing Personal Information: KJ discourages people from handing out personal information to other people here and points out that if you do, you do so on your own accord. The website nor any of the people involved in running the website are in anyway responsible for any problems that come up with you revealing information about yourself.

Plain and simple. KJ does not want to get involved with people's personal lives. If anyone chooses to do so, they do so on their own accord. If you have serious issues at home, and if KJ members want to deal with these issues, thats fine. But you are no longer 10 years old. You're in college. If you're asking us to pick up a phone and call social services, then i would assume that you have the exact same ability as we do to make that call. Frankly, it is highly irresponsible for anyone involved in the forum to call up any kind of services on your behalf. I do not know you, do not know your family, do not know your situation and can in no way verify it. Calling up someone to create hell for a family for as far as i know, is all a complete joke (and don't tell me this stuff doesn't happen on the internet all the time) is very very irresponsible. If Joblo decided to do it, they had their reasons. Would i pick up the phone and contact someone if i knew Loyal, Dolcevita, Dima, or Padraig were in trouble? Absolutely. I know them, I have their numbers, I've met them. Would I do so for you, Jiffy, Rev, Beeblebrox? No. I do not know them and it would make no sense to do so without further validation, which i cannot do at this time.

Bottom line. Your personal problems are your problems and there is nothing anyone can do here that you cannot do for yourself. Everyone on this forum has different personalities and different problems happening at home which is why the rules here are not to cater to one person. When you post here, you post according to the rules THIS FORUM sets. And the interpretation of these rules is the responsibility of the admins and mods. NO ONE ELSE. Others can advise and discuss but they have the final say on how to react, and how to interpret a situation.

You need help? Call 911. If that gets people in trouble that you don't wish would get into trouble, call something equivalent to a 411 and ask for a number. There are programs, shelters, and opportunities avaialble for everyone everywhere.

I call bullshit. Even if you have zero friends and no immediate family, teachers at school would still help, as well as bosses at work.
