 Screen Counts/Crowd Reports for 1/28-1/30.
The reason why I started this thread early is because I saw Sideways yesterday at my theater. I saw the 7:15 show, and there was 25 people in there (good for a weekday at my place).
Anyway, I thought the movie was great entertaining fun. The performances were great, I like the story, and it was very funny. It contained some of the funniest scenes of 2004 (The Osterich farm anyone). I give it an A-.
BTW, if you saw any Best Picture nominees today or before the weekend, post them here.

Well...
I saw Sideways at the very beginning of November, Finding Neverland and Ray a few weeks later, The Aviator at Disney World on New Year's Day, and Million Dollar Baby about three weeks ago.
Does that count?

Only after the nods where annoucment babe. It looks like that you've seen everthing, I've got alot of catching up to do. Though at my theater, it has been a tradition for all five nominees to play at the theater (though three are already playing). At least I saw Sideways, does that make you happy?

At my theater, it will be Hide and Seek on 3 screens, Alone in the Dark on 1 full screen, plus one screen at night.
Aviator and Sideways stay, Million Dollar Baby remains on 2 screens, and Finding Neverland returns to theaters.

I finally get to see Million Dollar Baby. The only theater around me that had it, was a bit of a drive, and if I wasn't too sick, I would have seen it already, but now it's coming to a theater near me.
Question for those who have seen it. I am a really big Clint Eastwood fan. Where does this rank with his best movies and his best acting performances? Is it his best yet?

Granted that I'm not a huge western fan (though Unforgiven is one of my favorite movies), I'd say Million Dollar Baby is just as good, if not better, than Mystic River. That was my personal favorite of Clint's previously, so...

Haven't seen many Eastwood's movies, but for me, this is his best in both directing and acting.

Thanks for the reply , Libs and xiayun. I'm looking forward to it even more now, and if I can possibly see it tomorrow, I'll get a review up as soon as I get back. I might even get to go early, but it all depends on my health and energy. [-o<

Clint Eastwood is not the best director of all time. When his movies are bad, they're BAD. But when they're great, they're great. And Mav, I think that this is his greatest achievement. It's nearly perfect, and I know you're going to be raving about it.

I've seen Million Dollar Baby. I still haven't seen Sideways yet, but it's not playing close by. 30-45 minutes away. I might have to wait until DVD for that one. This weekend, I'm seeing Hide and Seek, and maybe, Alone in the Dark.

I should be able to go see two films next week, so I'm planning on Million Dollar Baby and Hide and Seek.

^ That's what me and my parents have both planned to watch. Looks like they added Million Dollar Baby to the theatre my cousin works at, yay. \:D/ I might want to skip Hide and Seek though and just wait for the DVD. If it's on the same side I'll check out either Sideways or Hotel Rwanda (which I should have seen last week )

I'll be seeing Hide and Seek tonight at 7:15 PM. I've managed to avoid spoilers (that's why I haven't been on much lately), so hopefully i'll enjoy it.

I've been avoiding them too. It's difficult, though. Every damn movie site has it somewhere.
Anyways, I'm going tonight at midnight for Hide and Seek.

You know theres some new commercials for the movie that give away WAY too much, its stupid marketing.

Some theater reports from HSX:
"Alone in the Dark has sold 53 tickets for the whole day compared to Elektra that has sold 57"
"4:00pm Million Dollar Baby: Seats 300, about 250 there"
"16-screen multi-plex, 4:15pm, 400+ seat theatre, about 20% full"

I hope people will be smart and keep spoilers out of this thread. I probably won't get a chance to see it until next week.
