After 40 days of release, The Aviator finally climbed to No. 1 during a weekday without being No. 1 in any previous weekend. I see it getting at least 7M this weekend.
Sideways and Million Dollar Baby continue to rise as well.

The Oscars are helping The Aviator more than I was expecting, considering that it's been around since Christmas. I have a hard time seeing it not make at least $100M now.

Week-to-week:
THE AVIATOR 58.3%
MEET THE FOCKERS -25.5%
COACH CARTER -27%
IN GOOD COMPANY -18.4%
ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 -28.7%
SIDEWAYS 110.5%
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA 29.1%
WHITE NOISE -25.5%
RACING STRIPES -21.1%
MILLION DOLLAR BABY 83.9%
ELEKTRA -38.8%
HOTEL RWANDA 76.5%
I guess snows have melted this week. Even a film that dropped 70% the last weekend is holding reasonably well during weekdays.

Unbelievably good for the Oscar nominees, but in particular for The Aviator. As of now, it is a lock to become Scorcese's most successful movie, topping Cape Fear. I expect it to cross $100 million by the end of its run.
Expect the Friday increases not to be huge, though.
Meet the Fockers broke $250 million today. Not bad...

Every film in the top 12 will drop less 35% this weekend. The Aviator is going for an $8.5 million weekend.

I'm assuming you don't think Elektra will be in the top 12.
