My two cents:

Many of you who badmouth the admins (including when I was one), do so in a very argumentative and negative fashion. You often seem to act like a toddler not getting his or her way.

If you have a problem with the admin / mods, I think you would find them very willing to listen if you were to post your concerns / criticisms in a constructive way. The way Libs went about voicing her concerns is all any admin can ask for. There is nothing wrong with not seeing eye to eye with whoever is running a forum, and there is nothing wrong with making that disagreement public. The problem comes when you start hurling insults and accusations at people who are only trying to do their best, nothing good will ever come out of that.

You want the admins to show you respect, so start by showing them a little.

Regardless, there is no excuse for treating an admin the way you have been getluv. There is a right way and a wrong way to go about voicing your complains, and you are choosing the wrong way.

Thanks Eagle. I also would like to say that just because I didnt address most of the complaints here doesnt mean that Im not taking them under advisement. Its just that if I answer to most of them, it will open up to 100 other questions. Trust me Im doing my best to improve

i told u from the very beginning Roid was a bad choice simply because the guy had poor judgment. and just look at all the commotion. and its just not me. the snakebite thread on RIP whoever it was a good example of this. it was quite clear from the opening post it was SPAM, he even linked to a wikipedia where it mentioned to nothing about a death. i'm sorry but he is not fit for the job.

he then compared me to snakebite, and thats when the argument in the "there is something really wrong KJ" started to flow from halfway down the first page. so don't try to throw this BS down my throat. and i'm not gonna accept an olive branch from him with "maybe" innit. Either you're sorry, or you're not.

i know the admins and other mods were going to defend him anyway. this is why i will discontinue arguing. because all it needs is one congratulations from a forum member and an admin to keep this going.

and one last thing: it would be ignorant to suggest past history won't effect my judgement. i've already outlined my reasons why thru this thread. whether or not it was taken on board is seriously not my problem.

I was under the impression that i was not suppose to get into any discussion involving admin/mod matters at all and let them deal with all the decisions and fighting i've been itching tosay somethign and considering eagle is replying back, i'm gonna throw my 2 cents into this matter.

Frankly, and i have no problem saying this but half of you all, while voicing your opinions, are as usual, just being complete dicks about it.

This is not to imply that karl, myself or loyal did a great job but we had a system in place, knew how to back each other up, to deal with people on the forums the way we saw fit (whether giving them attention, listening to advice or flat out closing a thread in the site when it required closing. point is, for almost 5 years, people were used to the way we did things and liked it or not, at least saw a level of predictability and were adapted. The addition of new mods or admins didn't mean as much as great a job as they did because they were still molded into our style of admining and we were always there to back up or send out a message when required.

This admin/mod team isn't just new, they're completely unguided. Neither karl, myself or loyal interefere in the way they do things nor have we asked them to adhere by any system that we had asked them to put in place. they make a decision, they make it on their own ... and bear the brunt of the outcry when its unpopular with a few folks.

None of you guys are giving the admin/mod team to fall into their own rhythem, to learn from their mistakes and figure things out for themselves. We had a year .. hell .. we had 5 years to work it out, you guys haven't given the team 3 weeks before starting your complaints.

Frankly, i'm quite disinterested in people's opinions on how roid specifically is performing. If it ain't roid, tomorrow, it will be someone else who is admin, who will piss someone else off and the cycle will begin and they'll proclaim just as loudly as the lot of you that they're just as bad because
- they did something you didn't like
- did somethign specifically against you
- didn't like you to begin with.

While i do not mind constructive criticism, a few of you really need to walk away (yea, i'm looking at your getluv .. specifically ... for all the argument you're having over roid specifically targeting you, you haven't shut up once about how you hate what he did to you a few weeks ago and have been continuing on ever since ... so can it. Don't tell an admin to ignore you. they won't. That's their job. They'll continue to deal with matters the way they see fit!).

And some other people should realize how when they were in a position of authority how utterly retarded they were treated and never given a chance from time to time. So yea .. try backing away and let a person do their job for a bit ..... not happy with it .. PM them and tell them what you think would have worked better .. because if i recall, not everyone found your decisions too popular all the time as well (this is not targeted specifically at Libs).

Personally speaking, considering half the people in this thread are just going around in circles, this thread should have been closed a long time ago. I'm not perfectly okay with every decision made but i'm willing to give the team a chance to find their own way. So far, they've been doing a satisfactory job.

you like roid anyway. very much so i'm told. i gave roid a chance, nothing was achieved. usually you can tell someone is going to be a problem very early on.

it would be ignorant to suggest past comments (hurtful ones) shouldn't be involved. i didn't say roid to ignore me, i said i would ignore him. get ur facts straight.

You are welcome to, heck you are encouraged to constructivly criticise Roid. He is new to being an admin, and he will only get better with time.

If you take issue with the closing or not closing of a thread, let him know how and why in a constructive manner. He will listen. Just as you said, respect goes both ways, and I've seen a much greater effort on Roid's part to show you respect than vice versa. I think you will find that Roid genuinly wants to improve, and would be happy to take your opinions under advisement, but remember, he is the admin, and the final decision lies with him, Nebs and the rest of the staff.

well Im not taking any offense to the comments although I feel getluv's comments were too blunt rather than being constructive. But anyhow I allowed the thread to be made because I rather her some of the opinions here and consider them. Of course Im not going to let it be a democratic system because it doesnt work out that well in some cases.

i think you should know by now i dont sugar coat things. but in future, i will use the "report" button, we really should be focusing on the excessive use of the n-bomb currently underway in the watercooler.

Such comments are not only discouraged, and completely unwelcomed and it is my wish that the admins will be stricter and harsher in respect to them. You may bring to an admin's attention if you think something is incorrect, just like inso did in this thread. However, telling the admins what to do/wath not to do and how to do their job will probably not achieve anything because the admins are more well aware of than yourselves on what they are suppose to be doing and what they're not.

My liking or disliking of roid has little to do with why hes on board. All 3 of us have had people on the mod team we haven't been fond of and all 3 of us have given time for any mod or admin to adjust.

You see even when I have done my job, you feel the need to discredit it. The Guybrush thing was taken care of 15 minutes ago. I also would appreciate that if you use the report button or make report thread that you dont add unneccessary remarks to my mod skills. learn to take some criticism. if you can't, stop dishing it out. whether roid absolutely hates you or not, his actions seemed quite justified to me, as a casual observer with no authority over modding decisions
