Octopus is pretty normal too. Eggplant? You consider that weird? Oh dear, don't go anywhere near middle eastern cuisine ok? Yeah, but the eyeballs...the only ones I've come across i've had to dissect in highschool. Define weird before I answer this? Also, there are a couple comments I'm surprised haven't popped up yet.
i eaten cow tongue a bunch of times and also Octopuss!
americans dont have wierd food, they freak out when they ear about this stuff
crickets, ants, cow stomach, tongue, worms (i think they eat worms somewhere but not all kinds) more more and more weird but good stuff!, i think thats why fear factor is so popular over there, we have a Fear Factor Mexico and they dont eat most of the time, i thing the grosses thing they ever ate was tarantulas :???:

You've been to japan? Anywhere you haven't been? neostorm wrote: Yes I am Portuguese cuisine is very different though depending on the region. Like the north is the weirdest part bc we're more rural and conserve every part of an animal. We have amazing pastries though
She was from outside of Porto (or at least, that was the closest airport to her). she said she grew up rural. siad when her and her twin were little girls they would stomp on grapes barefoot to make wine and everything!
Yes, you do have good pastries, but I might not be the girl to ask about that, since I pretty much consume all sugar in sight 24/7. in fact, I just fpolished off a ton of gummy bears.

Yes....yes I did. She was very vague. I'd ask what it was and she would say "seafood" or "chicken" or "meat" and never really expound on those nouns. so i didnt push it. i just ate it. some of it was quite good actually, and most of the problems I had were with, ahem, *texture* more than flavor.
Ground Meat Tartar...i had it an Ethopian restaurant once and I must say raw ground meat is really the most unappetizing thing I've ever had come to think about it. Something about it was so squishy I almost got ill. But my bf at the time was so proud to be taking me to my first ethiopian restaurant at the time that I didn't want him to feel bad. I had to really force it down...and i drank a ton of that honey wine stuff (I think its called Teg) to drown out the flavor. ugh.

Well Dolce,
I love to travel and Japan isn't that far away from NZ. Just a little bit shorter flight time than say to L.A.. However, my dear, there are yet many, many places that I still desire to pay a visit to!

Hmm just yesterday I ate the entire head of a sheep. Everything but the brain and bones. I ate the tongue, the eyes, the flesh and meat...
I also ate ram testicles
And whale meat too.
Oh, and this is not the first time I've eaten any of this.

If it's cooked right, then yes! It's very similar to beef actually.

I don't think I've ever eaten something that I thought was weird. I once had a burger that had a pound of beef in it. Does that count?

Once I tried caribou jerky, homemade by a friend of mine from Alaska. It tasted sort of like beef, not bad at all.
In elementary school they taught us that early settlers in North America would kill beavers just for their tails and buffalo just for their tongues. Any good?

I've eaten raw whale meat and it was ok. I really like Octopus. I've also tried mountain oysters, also known as cow testicles.
