 Thread Locking
Am I the only one who thinks the thread locking has gotten to be a bit much. (ridiculous, even) Why was this locked? viewtopic.php?f=10&t=39641

The less threads about your annoying duo the better.

 Re: Thread Locking
Because some mod out there is intelligent and realizes such threads are unnecessary and will lead to nothing good.

 Re: Thread Locking
The Laugh at Indy thread should be locked, its a waste of space in cinemania. There should be a Laugh at TDK thread though.

 Re: Thread Locking
not sure who locked it but i personally find the thread very offensive. i'm all for jokes but i do find the constant equating of terrorism with Islam and Muslims distasteful.
Thats just about the only reason why i would close it. other than that, the only other reason that i can find is that while the thread in itself is fine, we do try to keep the number of 'spawned' threads to a certain size. too many maverikka related threads in a short period of time though i think, still not quite at the point where locking is neccessary. however, 1 or 2 more and i would have done so myself.
anyway, ii'm keeping the thread closed. i'm not overly sensitive but i know some muslims here would clearly be annoyed by the first statement.

 Re: Thread Locking
One thing of note here is that whoever closes the thread, unless its already been established why the thread should be closed should leave a message about it. i'll speak with the mods and admins about it to ensure that doesn't happen again.

 Re: Thread Locking
I locked the thread for reasons I thought were obvious. It's pretty much spam as there's already one similar thread. Plus all the baiting.

 Re: Thread Locking
If it was closed because of insensitive muslim remarks or because it was making light of terrorism, okay, that fine with me. I didn't mind the comments, though. I get a rise out of jealousy!

Just saying, what is obvious to you, might not be obvious to everyone. So I agree a simple comment should also be posted. I am closing this thread because..... Also, I think that threads shouldn't be closed. All topics should be open for discussion. But the people that cause trouble in threads should be penalized and held accountable. Just because one person wants to cause trouble in a thread, doesn't mean that the thread should be ruined for all. In my humble opinion. Also wouldn't it be ironic if this thread was closed.
