Remember The Titans Box Office Profile
This is probably the one film that Coach Carter is the closest to box-office wise. It's star is African-American, it's about sports, it's inspirational, etc. Other good comparisons, I think, are Varsity Blues, last year's Miracle and Friday Night Lights, and any other sports-related films. Titans is among the more successful ones, and Coach Carter has got it's work cut out for itself trying to keep up with Titans in the weeks to come.
P.S., Remember the Titans was a great film. Don't nobody be dissin it, alright?

Great work, box.
It'll get more interesting in February with our first potential $100 million movie (almost a lock, imo), Hitch.

Will Smith + Eva Mendez (hot) + desperate fat white guy wanting a hot chick and being taught by cool-master Will = humongorific box office success.
In humbler terms, I think $100m is guaranteed. \:D/
Edit: Have you seen Coach Carter, Zing? How about Remember the Titans? I liked that one, hehe. I mean, it's formulaic, but it delivers. And with Washington, how can you go wrong? You just can't! \:D/

Bleh, it's not showing the whole thing. Anyways, Coach Carter is right behind Closer, around the same area.
Anyways, for the chart below:
------------
TOP FILMS OF THE DECADE: 2000-2005
Hobbits, Ogres, and Spider-Man everywhere! ](*,) \:D/ And Jesus too! What a party, lol.
The film that will top this chart by 2010 will also top the all-time chart. Titanic won't stay at the top for another 5 years.
Edit: Here are #499 and #500:
499 Mr. 3000 $21,811,187
500 Boys and Girls $21,799,652

You found those in the top 100? Where? I doubt any of them would have made the top 100, as the top 100 are all well over $100m. Only CTHD crossed that mark among foreign films.
So, I think there are only 2 subtitled movies in the top 100, CTHD, and of course The Passion. Can you tell me what chart you were looking at?
Life is Beautiful was a 1998 release, and made around $57m in the US.
Edit: Ok, I think you meant the Top 1000. In that case, Life is Beaitful is among them, yes. Only, I did not put up all the top 1000 films, because there isn't enough space. But ya, Life is Beautiful is among the top 1,000.
There aren't that many.

Obviously, it ceased operations. But since you kindly bumped it up, let's put up some info for Sahara and Fever Pitch
SAHARA AND FEVER PITCH: DAY 1
I'm not impressed by these numbers. Far from it. Sahara's budget is $130m. With an opening like this, it will barely make $50m in the US. Unless it crosses $210m overseas, which is all but impossible (correction: it IS impossible), it needs to have a good shelf life, else it will be a money loser.
The Ring Two $14,805,208 ( 3,332 | $4,443 | $14,805,208 )
Ocean's Twelve $14,739,256 ( 3,290 | $4,480 | $14,739,256 )
