Re: Brothers & Sisters (Season 2)
I thought it was pretty weak, actually.
How many times are we going to have to do the "Oh, Mom" storyline? We get it: Nora loves her kids; she's overbearing at times but ultimately knows what's best. We get it. I know that's just her character, but I feel like season one covered the same ground in less obvious manners. I didn't think the spa getaway was that funny. (The writers on the show are big fans, apparently, of sending the characters on "getaways" whenever some levity is needed.)
And once again, the Tommy and Justin storylines would be interesting, if only we cared about them.
The Saul thing was really interesting, though, I agree. He seemed to be speaking the truth when he said "I'm not gay." But maybe not. I can't tell.

I mean I was ready to hurl when I saw Kevin down on his knees at the end of the premiere. I don't find it that repulsive but just the way the writers handled it was so very, how do I put this, not very liberal-like. ;)

Re: Brothers & Sisters (Season 2)
The end of that episode almost had me in tears. Great acting by Rachel Griffiths.
As I said above, I do wish they weren't making Joe so gross. I want him to go away very much. The same goes for Lena. Do they really need to go there with a "Tommy infidelity" storyline? Yawn. It doesn't help that Tommy is more boring and uncharismatic than ever.
Calista was also really good in this episode, I loved how the Walker clan exploded with joy when Kitty confirmed her pregnancy and she unsuccessfully tried to hide her happiness about it.
And, of course, the whole bit with Nora and and the pantry.

Rachel Griffiths is honestly, amazing. The end of the episode, was fantastic. The men in this show, though, on the other hand. Eeek! What have the writers done.

I hope Rachel Griffiths gets a Golden Globe nomination for that episode.

Wonderful episode tonight with some great acting from Calista Flockhart in particular.

Re: Brothers & Sisters (Season 2)
Poor Kitty. Calista nailed her scenes again tonight.
I appreciated they gave Robert a "not so nice guy" moment there at the end, because his character has been portrayed as too virtuous and perfect lately.
Lena is gross. Which of the Walkers does she plan on hooking up with next, Kevin? Jesus.

Re: Brothers & Sisters (Season 2)
I definitely thought this was the best episode of the season.
The intervention scene was brutal and ugly. But, I thought, realistic. It was also tremendously well-acted by several of the cast members, especially Calista Flockhart (who has forever shed Ally McBeal, imo, and deserves Emmy consideration for this season so far) and Dave Annable. I also practically wanted to clap when Nora locked the door on Justin. That's what you need to do, y'know? I did find it a bit odd Rebecca never reappeared in the episode after getting verbally attacked by Justin. I figured she would come back or something, but...whatever.
Robert's storyline was boring. His character isn't interesting when he's not interacting with Kitty or another Walker on some level. I do wonder how the whole baby thing is going to go. Considering he's, you know, lying to Kitty about it.
I'm happy Tommy dumped Lena. Maybe he can go back to just being incredibly boring rather than incredibly boring and gross.

Re: Brothers & Sisters (Season 2)
Contrary to my core TV watching habits, I watched tonight's episode after more than a month of missing it.
I loved it. It was one of the best episodes the show has had. The intervention scene was really well done. Even if it was cliche, it was very well done!
I was going to wait for the DVD on this season but now I just want to catch up though I may not be able to with some of the first episodes I missed.

Re: Brothers & Sisters (Season 2)
Just caught up, and the show's back on track for me. The last two episodes were great.
I was annoyed when they were initially taking us back to another Justin-addiction storyline, but I like where they're going with it. I also loved what they did with Kitty's pregnancy (not that I like miscarriages, I just thought it was really well handled).
We're still a little in the dark with the whole Saul/gay thing. He didn't confirm his homosexuality, right? Just that he, at some point, was in love with a man? I don't know. I like what they're doing with this, though. It's believable, in a show that is, despite how much I like it, often ridiculous. (Which, speaking of, I didn't buy the Joe wanting sole custody thing at all. It made absolutely no sense. Glad that's over with.)
Tommy, still don't care. Rebecca's bangs, still not working.
But otherwise, I'm glad where the show is. And I'm actually loving the campaign storyline.

So, I think aside from episode 3, I've caught up with all of them and happy to say it did get much better.

I really like this show, despite only seeing about two episodes of the first season. I'm Netflix'ing the first season now, infact. Getting the first two discs on Monday. So yay!

Re: Brothers & Sisters (Season 2)
Really nice episode.
I like Kevin and Scotty together, and it was nice to see Kevin maturely handle his breakup.
I was also happy to see Kitty including Rebecca as a bridesmaid.
Chevy Chase got old.
Lena is so trampy. My god.
Now they made me curious what Kitty's dress looks like!

The ending was nice. Lena is a slut. Rebecca, God she is the best counter balance to this family. Sally Field, is great as always. The wedding should be fun.

Re: Brothers & Sisters (Season 2)
Yeah, good episode. I'm a bit cautious about the Kevin-Scotty storyline. I see it going the way of Ross and Rachel for some reason. I think they started up serious too soon. It maybe should have been re-introduced in season 3. I feel like they're kind of forcing that storyline because of the fan reactions to Scotty. But they are cute together, so I'm just gonna watch and see. They need to give Patricia Wettig something exciting. I hate that she's now become this moral center and advice-giver. Her husband's the freakin producer of the show. Give her something juicy!! She deserves it!!! Oh and nice to see a O&A alumni show up. I wonder of Steve Webber is gonna become a love interest for Sarah. It seems almost too obvious to happen. And what ever happened to Danny Glover??? The writers/producer said he was going to be a love interest for Nora but he came and went within one episode. I mean, I was at a Q&A with them and they literally said that but we're a third way into the season and doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon.

am i still the only person on the planet that loves Lena as a character. I read in EW that Ken Olin (AKA Patricia Wettig's real-life husband and one of B&S's executive producers) will be appearing in a three-episode guest-arc beginning tonight, as some former relationship of Holly's or something. That makes me happy. Recently, Holly has been by far the most sensible and intelligent character on the show, especially with the whole disgusting Tommy/Lena business. I want them to give her something to do.

Re: Brothers & Sisters (Season 2)
Patricia Wettig is one of the best things this show has and I agree, she is totally underused even though I'll admit I like seeing her in just about every episode whereas last season she's be absent for a few then come back.
I also read the EW report on the Ken Olin and Patty storyline. I'm hoping it's gonna be good and not cheasy. That whole family runs the show. Both their children work on it too, lol. They're really funny... I saw them both at the B&S Q&A during Outfest in the summer.
Can't wait for tonight's episode!!
