 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
I've been working my way through season one, and just as I thought (and have been told), although early episodes were pretty weak, things really start to pick up. And it's really funny. I like it a lot. It's no Office or Arrested, but it has potential. I have six or seven episodes left of season one.
It also proves that comedies need time to develop (even if that's just a handful of episodes). Because, I mean, I must admit, the pilot is pretty bad. But by episode five or so, I was on board.

The therapy session was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Alec Baldwin deserves an emmy next year for that one scene alone.

 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
The flashbacks to the party are maybe the best thing they've done so far. That was absolutely brilliant. There were actually many good things about the episode - Liz finding Pete in her bed with his wife with the Pop Tarts, David Schwimmer, Al Gore - it was an all around great episode.

 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
I'm through episode 5 of the first season, relatively unimpressed so far but I can see potential. I just don't like the bald writer and the dude writer very much. I'll keep watchin' though.

 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
Just watched the last two episodes. I'll admit I was a little disappointed by the first couple this year, but these ones, oh god... totally stepped it up.
Greenzo, probably will be the highlight of David Schwimmer's non-Friends career.

 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
I thought it was a solid episode, but not not a great one. Schwimmer, meh, didn't think he was that funny. I actually don't think this season, quality-wise, has hit the heights of the back end of last season.
Still loving the show, though.

Yeah, I laughed out loud a lot during that episode. Probably tops of the season for me.

 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
Squee wrote: Decent episode. Mediocrest sitcom on TV. I agree! I get a laugh here and there every week, but I'm still feeling sooo... unconnected to the show. I'm almost sick of the show. The constant need to crowbar in catchphrases (Blaargh, Nutburgers). The talking-to-the-camera ("Can we have our money now?"). The Family Guy-esque cutaways (the Lifetime movie). Trying to insert subtle hidden jokes like Arrested Development. And EVERY WEEK without fail there's a guest star. Jerry Seinfeld, Edie Falco, David Schwimmer, Steve Buscemi, Al Gore. We get it. Everyone loves the show and everyone wants to do it. Doesn't mean you need every celebrity in history to appear in the show. I think if I could sum up my feelings on the show in one simple thought, it's that Tina Fey and Co. try WAY too hard. Way way way too hard. I get this feeling that everytime Fey is on screen, she's just seconds away from looking at the camera and saying "This is funny, right? I know it's funny! I'm funny. You love me cause I'm funny. Funny!!" ... Umm... I get this way every few months with 30 Rock. It's a love/hate relationship. I'm sure by next week, I'll be saying how improved the show is from last year.

 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
Yeah I'm getting to be that way about it too, X. For a while last season it was a nice thing to watch, it was fresh and new, but this season I've only liked one of the episodes (The Carrie Fisher one). The last two have been so-so and kind of oddly exhausting. That whole Greenzo bit was one of the unfunniest things I've seen in a while and while it was good to see Fred Arminsen this week, his subplot was predictable.
I'll probably still watch it as it's on before my favorite show, and now and then it is good. But I'm kind of over it. I find Chuck and House both to be funnier most weeks.

You two can be crazy if you want, but the last three weeks in particular have been some great, great television.

 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
I pretty much agree with what everyone's saying. It's been a little weaker this season, and it feels like they're stretching at times, but still... I get a lot of laughs. While I don't think it's as good as either Scrubs or The Office, I think it's often more irreverent than those two, which is refreshing.

 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
Thursday's was good, I thought, by the way. I liked Edie Falco.
I loved this:
CC: I'm working at the Clinton office, helping Hillary retool her universal health care program. Jack: God, I want to kiss you on the mouth to stop you from saying such ridiculous things.

 Re: 30 Rock (Season 2)
The last few episodes have been much better. Some of the best in the series. I don't really mind the guest stars, as long as the episodes aren't ABOUT them, which hasn't really been the case since Seinfeld-Vision. Definitely the best sitcom on TV, seeing as The Office is pretty much unwatchable at this point.
