 "Reaper" (Season 1)
Reaper is a new CW series starring Bret Harrison and Ray Wise. It premieres on Tuesday at 9pm and the pilot was directed by Kevin Smith. I highly recommend it. I saw the pilot a while back and absolutely loved it! It's so entertaining and fun, but also quite thrilling and surprisingly full of heart. I'd recommend it most to fans of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The characters are really interesting and relatable, and the performances are strong. It's definitely one of the strongest new shows of the season, and critics seem to agree... "Imaginative and fun...enjoy the unexpected thrills, the sweetness and devilish humor." -- Barry Garron, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
"The most hysterical new show of the season...snappily paced and bursting with visual flair." -- Chuck Barney, SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS
"Really promising...filled with original flourishes." -- Matthew Gilbert, THE BOSTON GLOBEBe sure to check it out tomorrow night!

 Re: "Reaper" (Season 1)
While I definitely enjoyed the pilot and will be checking out more, am I the only one who hated the main character? His friends made up for it, but I just didn't like him. That, plus the fact that Kevin Smith isn't directing every episode makes me think this won't last long on my season pass. But we'll see.

I might have to watch the pilot again tonight seeing as how the girl on the show has been recast since the pilot we saw.

 Re: "Reaper" (Season 1)
Yeah the only thing I didn't like was the lead. The fat best friend had a bit too many punchlines as well, though without Kevin Smith he may cool down to normal.

 Re: "Reaper" (Season 1)
Ok, I don't like the new girl. At all. Plus, major continuity error. Any scene with the new girl, Sam had a mustache as opposed to a bit of scruff. Really bothered me.

 Re: "Reaper" (Season 1)
I think Bret Harrison is great in the lead role.
Missy Peregrym is a much better female lead, BTW. I watched the pilot again tonight to see what had changed, and she works so much better with the rest of the cast than Nikki Reed did in the original pilot.

Also, was it my imagination or were there too many commercial breaks?

Damn, I thought my eyes were just playing tricks on me, I noticed a change too. I didn't notice the scruff as much as the character just looking and seeming like a "cooler" guy. He didn't look like a geek at all in the new scenes, I think his hair was different too.

Yeah, I think he had more blond streaks.

 Re: "Reaper" (Season 1)
I liked the lead.
I hated Sock.
I liked the devil but he's Senator Morton to me - always.
I'll keep with it next week, because it's very hard to find stuff on at midnight on a Wednesday, but I'm not the hugest fan of the Supernatural type, get the villian, going on during the show. If I wanted that...I'd watch Supernatural.

Really liked it. My kind of show with a good cast (Ray Wise is perfect as the Devil).

 Re: "Reaper" (Season 1)
I really loved it. In fact, I almost loved it as much as Dirty Sexy Money, which is saying a lot. I'll definitely be sticking around for the season. The CW better not cancel it.

 Re: "Reaper" (Season 1)
Totally disagree. I'll stick with it for now, but this episode was a real let down from the premiere. And I can already see exactly how each episode will go: Sam gets a new vessel. Sam resists opening it. Sam gets a talking to from the devil. Sam reluctantly agrees to do his bidding. Sam fails. The devil comes back. Sam succeeds. The devil compliments him.

 Re: "Reaper" (Season 1)
I didn't think it was as good as the pilot, kind of slow, dragged on at times, and Sock annoyed me even more. That being said, I'm still going to watch next week, because there's some funny moments and I like the interaction between Sam and the Devil.

Ray Wise is fantastic as the Devil and deserves Emmy consideration, seriously.

I don't plan on watching this show anymore. Maybe I will catch up next summer on DVD or something. I'm going back to House next week.

Finally finished Season 1. The last two episodes were great and I'm really looking forward to the next season.
