I think we can all agree that it's a lock to fall at LEAST 50 percent unless it increases its theater count by 100%-ish or so (which ain't happenin'!) That's definitely an easy holdover for next weekend! ;)

No matter what Elekatra's opening weekend is, it is bound to drop more than 63% next week. Im going as high as 67% \:D/

Why would Elektra drop over 63% when Catwoman dropped that much and was the most trashed movie of the year?

While I don't think Elektra will decline by 63%, it will be coming off a holiday weekend. That won't help it much.

That's right and if anything, it sure is gonna bode well for WHITE NOISE that so far, based on peoples prediction around here will fall flat on it's face and I'm telling ya: This movie is gonna have better legs than your all not giving it credit for and I'm gonna laugh when it does..

You think a comic book movie that is holding back screenings for critics because they are afraid of the backlash against it will have great WOM? I heard this movie being compared to Catwoman but judging by the trailers it looks worse than that and even worse than Howard the Duck

Oh well good luck with your prediction as much as your prediction for a 200 million grossing AvP

Roid, stop trashing Elektra EVERYWHERE you can, its getting very old very quickly. Funny how supporting this movie is not ok by you, but trashing it is?

anyway, Coach Carter is dropping everytime i log on to Rottentomatoes. It started with reviews in the reigons of 80%+ , but then it dropped to 76% at the start of the night, and now its down to 70%. 10 reviews yet only, and only 3 rotten. Thats good.
I think itll probobly end up in the high 60s.low 70s in reviews, which is no bad thing, but its not Friday Night Lights either...

And im rooting for Elektra to pull out of the darkness and dodge the endless list of negative reactions associated with the genre and time.

Hmm... Elektra stands at 0% at RT at the moment with an average rating of 3.2/10. To be fair, only 7 reviews are in, but as of now, I don't see it going anywhere higher than 25%.

Looking at previous releases for MLK weekend, "Along Came Polly" struck gold with a paltry 26% on Rottentomatoes and an even more unimpressive 23% on Cream of the Crop.

So if "ACP" can do nearly $30m on a MLK weekend with bad reviews at around 3,000 theaters [but with the starpower of Stiller/Aniston] then "Elektra" shouldn't have too much trouble clearing $20m at 3,000 with the Garner name and a solid marketing campaign, even if reviews are bad. Id say if reviews are any lower than Catwoman's though by the end then id be kind of worried. But "Elektra" looks alot more artistic than "Catwoman"

What are you talking about??? :-k I said that WHITE NOISE was gonna do alot better in it's 2nd weekend than many give it credit for.. What does this have to do with being a comicbook which it isn't??? I think you confused what I was saying with Elektra which I don't think will do that Godawful bad the way the internet makes it out to be.. Somehow I get the impression the internet world blows movies out of proportions when panning them........

Elektra stands at 0% with 13 reviews in and an average rating of 3.1/10 (on par with Catwoman). Not too encouraging, but Eelektra has the fact going for it that it doesn't have the horrible, long pre-release buzz like Catwoman.

Doh sorry about that BKB. I thought you were defending Elektra. White Noise I didnt think it was as bad as I thought it would be, still the ending was a let down. Oh and pretend I didnt say what I said about AvP  . I was just messing with you, I think

reviews dont hurt super hero films much I still expect a robust opening well over 25m even with the bad reviews its still showing enough good buzz to break out and crack 30m  I have it pegged at 26m but for I would like to see it break 30m. Im not going to watch many films this year ,Ticket prise broke $10, so Elekra is not on my to see list in theaters, I feel no film in theater is worth over $10 to see in theaters thats an absolute ripoff. Anyway ill be catching Elekra on DVD

What is your point? I didnt like daredevil much but it did open over 40m and topped 100m. If people realy didnt like daredevil they would not have watched. Daredevil did not fool everyone into going to watch it, they gave you what you were going to get in the trailer and I was fine with that. Daredevil was not a film that a saw in theaters, I saw it on DVD. Lets say this film does what any other sequal/spinoff does and fall 50% from the origonal, that still puts its opening over 20m

Elektra now has 15 reviews and 0% while Carter gets 500 more theatres than expected. It keeps looking more and more like a Coach Carter victory, let's hope it happens. Elektra's commercials look really really bad, and I hate when that annoying narrator person says final battle in any action movie.
Final Predictions:
#1: Coach Carter - $22.7M
#2: Meet The Fockers - $19.8M
#3: Elektra - $17.6M
#4: Racing Stripes - $12.3M
#5: White Noise - $10.4M

Lemony Snicket won't fall another 50%, and Hotel Rwanda will gross over $1.4M. That's it.
