Post My New Guilty Pleasure : GILMORE GIRLS
Well, I've seen most of the season one episodes, I just need to see the episodes on disks five and six. The last episode I saw was when Dean and Rory broke up. I just LOVE the show, it's so sarcastic and hilarious. Here's my rating for the episodes ...

The Lorelais - 9/10 (A-)
First Day at Chilton - 9/10 (A-)
Kill Me Now - 7/10 (B)
The Deer Hunters - 9/10 (A-)
Cinnamon's Wake - 8/10 (B+)
Rory's Birthday Parties - 10/10 (A+)
Kiss and Tell - 9/10 (A-)
Love and War and Snow - 10/10 (A+)
Rory's Dance - 7/10 (B)
Forgiveness and Stuff - 9/10 (A-)
Paris Is Burning - 9/10 (A-)
Double Date - 9/10 (A-)
Concert Interruptus - 10/10 (A+)
That Damned Donna Reed - 7/10 (B)
Christopher Returns - 7/10 (B)
Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers - 9/10 (A-)

So that's what I've seen so far. I also like that when I don't like an episode, normally the next episode is a GREAT one. Of course there isn't really an episode I didn't like but there is a few that aren't as great as most. I can't wait until I see the next episodes and season two. I didn't really want to see this show because I thought it would be really girly but it surprisingly isn't, I love it! Everyone should definetely give it a chance.

Gilmore Girls is great, but I haven't seen it in a while. My brother hates the show, because "no one talks like that in real life". He couldn't be reached for further comment, as he was watching another horror film.

*shakes head*

I know people that talk like that, a lot of people do. It just depends if you're sarcastic or not.

Do you understand what a guilty pleasure is? It's something that's not that good of quality but you can't help but enjoy it anyway; something you almost feel guilty for liking/loving. You should feel guilty for enjoying THE O.C., but not this. This is NOT a GUILTY PLEASURE! If it was it wouldn't get such great reviews and it certainly wouldn't ever get any Emmy noms. So you don't think this is a really well-made show that's smart, well-acted, etc...? I guess you must not if you consider it a "guilty pleasure."

A guilty pleasure?! [-( [-X =;

You thought it would be really girly yet SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS is one of your favorite movies of the year and you will soon be seeing THE PERFECT MAN, HERBIE: FULLY LOADED, and BEWITCHED? Oh, and you also thought MISS CONGENIALITY 2 was hilarious? :-s You're even going to rent ICE PRINCESS for Ellen's sake! Not to mention you are a FULL HOUSE fan (which is actually one of the very definitions of a guilty pleasure - I'd be way more ashamed to watch and like that than GILMORE GIRLS. There's no shame in loving this show at all. In fact, there's shame in not watching it. You should feel embarrassed not to be watching it. If you're not it's likely because it's just too smart for you and it's way over your head). But yes, this show just seems like it would be too girly for a manly man like yourself .

This is a greatly overlooked hour on television today. I have only seen the first three seasons. For some reason I never caught it during the regular season, so am relegated to watching it on DVD. Which in some ways is better as I can watch many episodes consecutively.

The first two seasons are really great and filled with hilarity, it's the third season where it starts to go south just a little bit. It's where I grew tried of Rory and to grow tired of a title character is a bad sign for the shows future with me (see: Dawson's Creek). I've read on another message board that S4 isn't much better for Rory, and that S5 just tries it's hardest to destroy the R/L dynamic which is key to the show (I've only seen the finale, and the first three episodes from that season). So it sounds as though I caught on to this show just in time to see it burn out, just like another show on The WB, Smallville. Oh well, Lauren Graham still rocks.

Talking fast has nothing to do with being sarcastic ;).

But I do know people that talk fast, and there definitely are people like that out there. Besides, I love the way they talk and think it's fun and cool. Does it matter if a lot of people don't talk like that? Nope. Do I believe there are little green men living in space? Nope, but I and many people still see movies about them. Are the Child's Play movies unrealistic? Yep. But I still enjoy them (and love Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky). You watch movies and shows to escape and be entertained, does it matter if they are completely realistic? Nope. It's annoying hearing people dislike the show because of how they talk. I think it's smart and creative and highly entertaining.

And AgentX, I actually loved the third season, just like I loved the first two. And I loved the fourth. I really never find it to go downhill. It's always great for me. They do a really great job with the Lorelai and Rory relationship when Rory goes off to college. They couldn't have done it better. Rory had to go off to college and they still managed to make it work.

GILMORE GIRLS is my favorite show of all-time! I give the show a 10/10 (A+), therefore I give every episode a 10/10 (A+). Sure some episodes are obviously better than others, but GILMORE GIRLS is always great for me and I feel no need to rate every single episode individually. I love them all. So yes I prefer some episodes more than others (every show has their highlight episodes), but each one is just a different degree of 10/10 (A+). No matter what though, it's always great.

I'm not saying it's horrible, I'm just saying I don't find it up to the same incredibly high standards of the first two seasons.

I guess my complaint is not necessarily how the relationship is handled, but what it has become. It's not great in my mind if Lorelai is watching Rory unpack through a window in her Parent's pool house.

Well I haven't seen the fifth season yet because when it was on I wasn't done with the fourth and I didn't want to watch the show out of order so I wasn't aware of that happening, but I'm sure they'll manage to handle it well and it likely doesn't come off as bad as it sounds. From people that have watched it I've heard the show is still great and some say the fifth is the best season yet, so I guess we'll see. I'm sure I'll still love it.
